we're only around for 80-100 years, thats so little on a time scale, humanity is a mere blip in earth's history

Humanity as a whole isnt a blip but individual lives are. because we live for such a short time things that happen will rarely happen again before we die.
Defining moments those are like the fall of communism in europe with the berlin wall that is, there are others but thats the first one that comes to mind
