I'm the GTA myself...
I am planning on doing a StarGateWars pannel at
Polaris21 in July...
Polaris21, formily Toronto Trek or TT, is a SciFi con in Toronto... this years main guest is Torri Higginson, AKA Dr. Elizabeth Weir from Stargate Atlantis... there are to be more Stargate guests, but they haven't been announced yet...
I am the Team Leader for the Local Stargate club, which is all of Ontario...
http://www.sg16.ca ...
http://www.stargatehero.com ...
http://www.sg-command.com ... (SG-25 - Quebec and the East coast can also be found on those threesites)...
I don't think there is any doubt who the biggest geek Stargate fan in this game is

...

I've seen prices from $179-$187 from Air Canada Tango leaving from March 27 to April 6th...that is much cheaper than flying to Europe(~ $947).

exactly! don't tell me that it's cheaper, I've looked into it all before.
and hey! no talking about my ass on the forums.... it gets enough talk...
though, if you do decide to hold it on that end of the country, I will try my best to get there. I just can't make any promises like I could if we picked vancouver.

Personally I think we need a Eastern Canadian convention and a Western Canadian convention.
The country is to goddarn big to just have one massive convention. Whereever the event is being hosted at, someone loses.
Well Montreal is probably the ideal city for Eastern Canada. Most people of from Windsor to Ottawa can just take VIARail (it's cheaper then an Air ticket and it's basically like first class). Those of Atlantic Canada could take the VIARail again (people from Newfoundland and Labadour have to take a plane, or take a car/ferry). Those of Northern Ontario either gotta fly, take a roadtrip, or take a train (with a lot of transfers...).
Those of Wesetern Canada, the ideal place for a convetion probably Edmonton as it is the centre of everytihng and the cheapest for all people flying or taking the train. People in the Territories gotta take a flight as no train goes that North....
Well thats just my idea

Have them at the same time... Perhaps a web cast... randome people could send messages once in a while...
Just a normal get together in TO wouldn't be tough...

... doesn't look look any huge numbers here... Best location for meeting is Yorkdale (it's a hub for Transit, GoBus, Subway, and highway)... not too sure whats there myself... Most get togethers I've had there were to see movies......

A single covention in a central city like Winnipeg might work. There are cheap hotels there and some cross-country flights go through here.

Montreal is a good idea except it's french. (im france-french... not french canadian

so i can make fun of them...?

)
the other thing is
MTL screws over TDot because of the method of getting to MTL
the maritime can bust they own rear-ends to the "rest" of Canada if they really want.
