Metallica should be inscribed onto the chest of anyone who claims to like metal. Absolute gods of the genre.

Why?

Metallica sold out, and they aren't metal anymore. Megadeth is a far better example of Thrash Metal then Metallica. Sweating Bullets from their Countdown to Extinction is a classic track.

maga death is a death metal band and metallica is and will always be the origin of most metal songs(i have herd they might be making a come back but it is not for sure)

metallica is cool (my faverite's would be
enter the sandman
my friend of misery
unforgivin
follow the god that failed
sad but true

Maga death? Don't you mean Megadeth?

For original songs try Iron Maiden, who were kicking around before Metallica and in my person opinion, are much better.

Really who cares if they sold out. The point is they made good music and will always make good music. Hopefully they will still play together like the Stones and Aerosmith. Still Playing together well in their 50's and 60's. But hopefully they won't go on numerous farewell concerts like some other bands. They truly rock and any other player who says differently should go and buy St. Anger. Then listen to that a couple of times.

The songs that I like are as follows:

Enter Sandman
No Leaf Clover
For Whom the Bell Tolls
Seek & Destroy
Master of Puppets
I Disappear
St. Anger
Frantic
Turn The Page

I took your advice. I listened to the song St. Anger and it sounded like crap. Retardophobic themes and crappy music.

Next to listen to will be Purify. I don't expect it to be better.

I asked a friend, and...

"- тıм says:
I like Metallica and St.Anger is fairly **Filtered**"

Metallica, responsible for one of the greatest lyrics ever written...

'You know the empty can rattles the most' - i lurv it!

My favorite Metallica songs...

Unforgiven #3
My Friend Misery
Sad But True
Turn The Page (cover but they do it best IMO)

Suicide and Redemption - NO lyrics, its 100% guitar, and tbh, most of it sounds great, but one part, is awes-inspiring.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ow6Envf9QM

part starts at 3.48, really kicks off to an amazing level at about 4.50.
