How are your attacks wasted?
How can you possibly argue that paying for X, but receiving only Y, is not a waste?
You've spent 99% percent of the massive effort in time and resources to deascend someone; only to achieve less than half of the damage promised. (They still accumulate bloody turns...!)
If deascension was "two day's booted from the ascended realm, and halfsies on main bonus" then yes, the cost would be 'worth' the effort in a theoretical sense. But that's not what deascension is supposed to be.
You've paid the price, sacrificed your main account; burnt your ascended account; and you're not getting what was promised. Hence, a waste of your attacks, a waste of your time; for that time and those attacks could have been better served elsewhere.

It's like saying;
"You've got ten bucks, you can buy a bike or a scooter"
You buy the bike, and it turns out the dealer lied to you about its condition (it's broken). Haven't you 'wasted' ten dollars? If the dealer had told you the truth, you would have bought the scooter, and been quite happy.
I don't know how much simpler I can get... This Vacation business is broken beyond belief.
If they go on Vacation mode they freeze in time and do not grow. You on the other hand do. When and if they return you have more power and AT to finish them off with. It doesnt stop anything. It only slows them down and lengthen the inevitable.
Wars don't go on in a vacuum. Sure, you two both might experience stunted growth; but the rest of the server is rolling dandily along.
Again, if you've worked out the cost/reward of pulping your enemy, that's not a problem... you've decided that losing X power is worth hurting him Y.
But when a game abuse only lets you do C damage, suddenly the X you spent is a horrible mistake... you've wasted it, and this time it's not your fault for being shortsighted.
