Re: 'A Song of Ice and Fire'

I'd rather he took his time and make it worthwhile than churn it out half-finished. I don't mind waiting an extra year if that's what it takes.

The Red Wedding was an amazing chapter. It was one of the most shocking moments in the series for me. I knew something bad was going to happen.. from Cat's fears, the wolf's behaviour and the tone of the chapter in general; the sense of impending doom. I always guessed it was going to be a trap. But the jaws of the trap closed so sharply and so brutally that it left me stunned. So many major characters, so many of the 'good guys' killed in such a short time. That chapter was so quintessentially GRRM, haha.

Sure don't get me wrong made for great reading, just wish he hadn't done it from a certain point of view, though i suppose at the rate he is going through people he will have killed almost all the nasty types soon too.

Re: 'A Song of Ice and Fire'

My favorite character is Jon. LC of the Night Watch and tries to be Ned Stark (you know, "my honor is my life" and all), but he's still human. I also like the Onion Knight, but the last book was hinting he was dead, which has me anxious. I'm really hoping it's not true.

I'm also wondering how Brienne and Arya end up (there endings were too sudden for me :( :P ) and I'm cheering for Jaime's stand in the last chapter. Awesome ending to the book!

Re: 'A Song of Ice and Fire'

Remember book 3 is split into book 3 part one and part two.
Storm of Swords part one: Steel and Snow
Part 2: Blood and Gold.

Thought I would clarify

Re: 'A Song of Ice and Fire'

Mine certainly came in two parts, you might have it as just one part. But yeah I would check.

Re: 'A Song of Ice and Fire'

I'm pretty sure I got both parts. I ended up reading around 1200 pages (estimate, don't have the book nearby)

Plus, no obvious plot holes between it and Feast of Crows.

Re: 'A Song of Ice and Fire'

Shiny is good! Yeah I came to the series before Feast for Crows was released. Got parts one and two of three on a whim (what a great whim that was) through some 3 for £15 on Play I think, then got them and thought Damn!

So went and ordered parts one and two, and bought feast for Crows as soon as i saw it as buy then I had all the other parts and had read them eagerly. Now I am waiting for Dance and not very patiently either :)
