Till the current/new n00bs are actually running the alliances, cos everyone else has quit due to boredom...
Whats worse is none of them will know why they are fighting anymore cos it will be like we have to win or something like that..
My prediction wait till the older players get so bored with the constant massing 1 bil defences, and the n00bs have bought out the accounts left their respective alliances and there is nothing but 40 1 mil army sizes in each alliance....
Can anyone spell "perpetual war" correctly??

It's being dragged out by the noobish idealists who beleive that it'll actually be written in the scriptures of SGW'ism as one of the great wars. It bears absolutely no excitment, or placing among the 'hall of fame' of wars of days gone by.
And as STI pointed out, it's probably all about real life financial gain.

This war is perpetual, in form and in function. Its motive is efficient, and the execution of the essence is flexible.
The war will last as long as there are people fighting it, with or without reasons. The comparison to Gullivers Travels is an intriguing link of thought. It matches the course of the present conflict.
Why are we at war in the first place?

The first interesting post on this excuse for a thread. I'll be looking for more of your posts.

Well, look at it like this, all these alliaances are at full scale war and yet the majority of players are still growing in size so noone is losing out.
Cop is losing the members who arent willing to fight, which is good for us as we only want strong members willing to fight at the same time we are perfecting our war tactics. Which is very good for us.
Cia are becoming more and more stubborn everyone fighting for a different cause, but still making very nice profit which is good for them.
So atm noone is losing out excpet for the stat builders, and if they so chose they are free to join DUNE along with people who have legit reasons to be there.
So this war wont end until admin introduces new updates in which a war becomes winable. Even then in defeat the cia will only start a new war, claiming that they will keep doing this until cop disbands which will completely bypass admin updates.
So this war is very unlikely to end until people learn thats its better to keep the devil you know. As much as cop farm/mass, if you build a defence/ dont provoke attack you will eventually become big enough to compete with the omega empire at such a level that they wont be a problem.
Only way this will end is if cia changes their method of thought.

your an interesting poster... very colourful so to speak, thats twice now ive seen such posts from you... Were at war because we joined this game on the covenant of such a thing and well to not conduct or take any part in it is obviously defying the point of our original presence here. Or for a more literal and blunt answer, people were not happy with the CoP's plain domination of the game and their unending ability to never let people forget it.

This war will never end.
Think about it. War "ends". A week later someone farms someone for naq or takes back a planet they lost. "War" starts annew.
It won't end.

"The War"
Great name.
Anyone notice that mercs became easy to buy during the war?
Removing that would make things interesting.
