isnt joining cop out of self interest too?

for any who noticed that im in DUNE, this is not my choice, it seems i automatically entered when my CO did, im just about to log in to quit and then ask for an invite back into omega.

thought i would post this here so no one thinks im breaking the DUNE rule.

All alliances, teams, factions, and gatherings of Teams be it DD, The Leigon, The Foundation, Omega, or any other Alliance is all formed out of self interest.
The LC, GA, CoP, and EPAc are all extensions of self intrest carried to the next level of evolution.

If you are solo and always have been then props to you. If not (which I know you have not always been solo)you too have used the idea of Alliances and so forth for your own personal self interest.

I really hate the idea of the DUNE alliance, you join an alliance for better or worst, you play, you fight, you die for your alliance. I wish everyone stayed where they were.

Dune alliance is a bad idea in my books.

If you allow people to move from their alliance to D U N E only ONCE, and then not allow them back into that alliance, you *do* end the war eventually.

You will have ever decreasing ranks of warriors, until there are but shades left of what once were the great empires. War is over when everyone is either in D U N E or too tired to continue.

Btw, who can check whether D U N E people aren't funding their old alliances? It *is* a rather cheap way of securing a major base of income, imo.

There is nothing wrong with DUNE as such, it was created for whatever reason STI created it, its the way people may use it although I trust STI and Reborn to keep their members from abusing the rules.

Once the war is over, or indeed if the war is over, will the people who joined DUNE be welcomed back into their original alliances as if nothing happened?

I can sort of see where BW is coming from.. but at the same time, there are some people who do have valid reasons for wanting to bow out of the war. The people who have stuff going on irl, for example, like Draleg or muaddibz. I don't think anybody can hold it against them for wanting to be in DUNE.

Honestly, I feel if you have time to be in DUNE and bank reguarly then you have time for The War. Those that left are simply greedy, and probably Stat Builders. Those with Real Life problems would be best to put their account on Vacation, if RL is that serious.

But, hey that is my opinion and one apparently Gen Lucky somewhat may agree with.

Also though, I very much doubt that Omega wont let Reborn or Corkscrew back in.

So I wouldn't expect any blanket answer on what alliances will or will not do.

I wasn't looking for blanket answers. I was just throwing the question out there. I'm well aware that different alliances will have different attitudes. I'm also aware that Cork still has his "Get into Omega free" card, hehe.

Anyone from TF that joins Dune will not be allowed back in after the war.

As Thufir has so clearly articulated, if you have to time to bank you can play.

But what bout the people that joined DD or TF after the war started ?

I must agree, being in an alliance is a commitment not something you can throw away when things get bad.

Personally, I think that it'll take only a few more weeks before the war is down to those who are really in the war. Eventually numbers on both sides will dwindle to those who are loyal no matter what. That's when the real war will start. And when it reaches that point, I think that there will be suddenly be a lot more respect between players instead of the insults that fly out now. If you cannot respect your opponents strategies and moves, then you will never win any war because you'll underestimate your enemy every single time. I'm getting fed up with all the hate going around.
