Looks like I need to put my head in a bucket of excrement for failing to read correctly. My apologies.

I'm not sure about the bucket of excrement... but:

As for the Romanian... let LoD, LoT or Eliberatorul or someone else Romanian translate.

it's all good.
I wish I had written it a little bit more clearly.

Also, thanks for not massing me first...
I know that some people around here have a habit of things like that... :P

I don't mass people, this is a game for diplomatic relations and peace.

oh... well...

jolly good show old sport(s)

I was reading through thinking I'd need to become the wizzard of oz and all the whatsit with a big booming voice, smoke, olive coloured text("method behind my madness"?), and all that nonsense

but you lot seem to have sorted it out amongst yourselves

good show!

You mean to tell me that you are not the Wizard of Oz? I am truly saddened, you've shattered a legacy of childhood dreams.

To bring this even slightly back on topic I should mention that there is a subtle irony in all of this, I failed to read my own beloved English correctly. Little chance of understanding what Mr Romania was trying to get across, is there?

It is Romanian...
Anyone with half a brain can see that *that* is not Latin, but related to it anyway. :)

Real Latin is like this: Isthay exttay isway ittenwray inway Igpay Atinlay, especiallyway orfay ethay ellasfay atway SGWsay.

Whoops. This one then:
Latin Dude wrote:Et quomodo invocabo deum meum, deum et dominum meum, quoniam utique inme ipsum eum invocabo, cum invocabo eum? et quis locus est in me, quoveniat in me deus meus? quo deus veniat in me, deus, qui fecit caelum et terram? itane, domine deus meus, est quiquam in me, quod capiat te?an vero caelum et terra, quae fecisti et in quibus me fecisti, capiuntte? an quia sine te non esset quidquid est, fit, ut quidquid est capiat te? quoniam itaque et ego sum, quid peto, ut venias in me, quinon essem, nisi esses in me? non enim ego iam in inferis, et tamen etiam ibi es. nam etsi descendero in infernum, ades. non ergo essem, deus meus, non omnino essem, nisi esses in me. an potius non essem, nisi essem in te, ex quo omnia, per quem omnia, in quo omnia? etiam sic, domine, etiam sic. quo te invoco, cum in te sim? aut unde venias in me? quo enim recedam extra caelum et terram, ut inde in me veniat deus meus, qui dixit: caelum et terram ego impleo?

1 bil naq for the translation, writer, modern title, original title, location in the text and date of writing.

Anyways... the translation according to Lord of Destruction:
"friend ... #### you and #### all your relatives of your frog kind to the under###ed scum that you are oh and I`m gonna take the war in #### like I did with your mom 5 times an hour for 15-20 years and I ####ed her"

The Confessions, Book I, Chapter 2
"Coming to Know God"
By St. Augustine of Hippo

between AD 397 and AD 398

And how shall I call upon my God, my God and Lord, since, when I call for Him, I shall be calling Him to myself? And what room is there within me, whither my God can come into me? Whither can God come into me, God who made heaven and earth? Is there, indeed, O Lord my God, aught in me that can contain Thee? Do then heaven and earth, which Thou hast made, and wherein Thou hast made me, contain Thee? Or, because nothing which exists could exist without Thee, doth therefore whatever exists contain Thee? Since, then, I too exist, why do I seek that Thou shouldest enter into me, who were not, wert Thou not in me? Why? Because I am not gone down in Hell, and yet Thou art there also. For if I go down into Hell, Thou art there. I could not be then, O my God, could not be at all, wert Thou not in me; or, rather, unless I were in Thee, of whom are all things, by whom are all things, in whom are all things? Even so, Lord, even so. Whither do I call Thee, since I am in Thee? Or whence canst Thou enter in me? For whither can I go beyond heaven and earth, that thence my God should come in me, who hath said, I fill the heaven and the earth?

The Confessions of Saint Augustine (354-430AD)

The title, (I'm not sure of this by the way) I'm going for Confessionum Libri Tredecim.

Unable to find a date, somewhere between his birth and death I'd imagine! :P

Yes, and Mr Greenman posted at the same time as me.

I asked for the translation, writer, modern title, original title, location in the text and date of writing.

Greenman:
translation, check.
writer, check.
modern title, check.
original title, missing.
location in the text, check
date of writing, check

Diamond Dust:
translation, check.
writer, check.
modern title, check.
original title, check.
location in the text, missing.
date of writing, missing.

You both get naquadah. Since it's my call really, I'll just say this. I raise the prize money to 2.5 bil, and split it according to my judgement.
Greenman gets 1.5 bil naq, having answered first and mostly completely right.
Lou gets 1 bil naq, posting later and having a detail Greenman didn't have.

Also... I hope you appreciate the *message* behind the words... although I have a suspicion you actually copy-pasted most of the info. :(

Gentlemen, check your brokers please. :)

On-topic: anyone appreciate the translation Lord of Destruction gave you?
