I took my 2nd test on June 1st and I didn't get one single driving fault and on the way back into the test center he asked me to pull over on the left.

So i checked my mirror and there wasn't a single vehicle anywhere in my sight so I pulled over without indicating (As I have been taught) and low and behold he failed me for it.

The rules aren't black and white, the examiner can use their discretion which makes the whole process corrupt as there is no coherency to each test.

I have written to the DSA in the UK to ask for written confirmation of what to do in that scenario, if they say you must indicate at all times when pulling over to the left then my 1st test was corrupt as I didn't indicate pulling over to the left and I didn't get anything against me for not indicating. If they say you don't have to if nothing is around then my 2nd test was corrupt and I should of passed it second time, either way the system sucks big time because they don't follow the same rules.

total agree on this one beliskner...i am glad that certain people see what i am trying to point out aswell

there are known cases here where the instructor just keeps you out on a test until you fail. my test lasted an hour my mate was nearly gone 3 hours and surprise surprise he failed

yeah they are just looking to catch when you will fail so they can have something on you........we were driving on 2 cars......till one came back, two people from our were done and last time our cop such a modded,it was the right opposite...other group was done and there were 5 more to go driving....the rides were very long.......

15min is enough if u ask me but hour is really enough and 3 hours OMG......it´s all about waiting when you will make some BS just to make you go back.............
Some people really don´t realise that..they got their driver´s license and now try to make it hard for others

One middle-aged woman had exams with us today...she passed without a problem,i am not saying she dont know how to drive but surely if she would be teenager like us.....maybe she wouldn´t pass like 13 of us didn´t......

I am being optimistic in this......there is always another test, but doing the same over and over is killing my psychic, always keep in my mind that the test is waiting for me.......The worst thing on it that my parents invested a lot of money into it and it really sucks and bother to see them unhappy that i can´t made the exams...............

Beliskner i agree as well i sat test in the UK also. Failed the first time and passed the second, First one the i was driving up a road i had gone up 15times in lessons, there was a car coming the other way at least 500yards away so i indicated and pulled accross well in front almost a minuite later the other car drives past and the instructor goes mental at me for cutting accross the guy, and how i could have caused an accident. Total BS i was well ahead. I ended up aguing with him and exchanging abuse finally threw my test slip at his face and walked of giving him a mouthfull of abuse. I even spoke o the police about it and they said i was well within my rights to cross and was breaking no laws or rules. Instructors are ****** if they are having a bad day they can take it out on you by failing you and there is nothing you can do about it

If you use your instructors car for the test and have a lesson before all in all it can cost close on £100 which is obscene, no wonder they fail so many with an income like that.

I have been told by two advanced drivers that my driving is perfect and they were telling me how it is nothing to do with my driving they just assume all teens are the same, boy racers.

They said if I was 30+ I'd pass with flying colors!

The first time pass rate in the UK is about 10% isn't it? I bet if you look at their ages nearly all will be quite older than 17, 18, 19 and 20.

So true, i know of a woman in her 30's who was doing 35mph in a 20 and the instructor still passed her, its unreall how they get away with it.

[Biscuit] wrote:In Ireland people are driving instructors (they have to be excellent drivers). They actually have to fail so many people a day in case it looks like they're letting everyone drive.
That girl should complain to a supervisor or someone in a more powerful position about what he said.
I can't drive but I don't really need to as I can get to anywhere I need to go when I have to.
In Ireland you might have to wait up to 6 months to do your driving test. :(

The funny thing is you can have a provisional license for years, drive a lot and gain a lot of experience and you still won't pass the test. (and even if you have everything they still won't insure your car :x )

IMO driving license is the biggest government scam after value added tax.

In Ontario we have a graduated licensing system. To drive a car you have to take 3 tests(G1 entry test, G1 exit test, G2 exit test), at least 8 months apart from each other for the first two and a year for the last, to be fully able to drive a car. Same thing for motorcycles, trucks, etc.
http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/dandv/ ... index.html

The results have shown to reduce injuries and fatalities:

You dont have it bad. The failure rate is ~50% for the G1 exit test, and higher for the G2 exit test.

lol, the second time I failed I had just turned on the car. The instructer had pulled up the emergency brake while I was out inspecting the tires. I was so nervous and never use the emergency brake so I started reversing and failed.

If they did that in the UK, they'd be sacked. That's interfering. I'd be on their case in an instant, oh and in the UK you can fail for not using the E-Brake as you call it. If you're stopped for more than a couple of seconds, you're supposed to apply it.

Oooh, i must be one of the 10% who pass first time, i had a driving instructor who was advanced qualified, was a bit more expensive than the rest, but it was obviously worth it.

This is interesting:
It's difficult to get driving license in Ireland. But it's still allowed for ppl with the international driving permit based on Colorado license to drive here.

So: why the heck make this tests so difficult??? It just doesn't make sense.

After second thought: value added tax is a bigger scam.
