I don't think the whole Star Gate movement has to die. Just look at Star Trek. Who in their right mind would have ever thought that a show like that would spawn four off shoots and almost a dozen or so movies? You couldn't. It became a craze. The whole Star Trek movement has lasted over 50 years now. That's just insane. I don't think Star Gate will have that sort of mass appeal, but you never know.
As far as the future, I agree, I think some subtle graphics would be nice. Nothing insane that you are actually needing to control the graphics, but some nice graphics wouldn't hurt. Also, you wouldn't want tons of graphics as far as battles because that would slow the game down quite a bit. I like being able to hit people, bank the naq and repair before they know what hit them. Graphics may cause too much of a slowdown.
I think as long as Atlantis goes on, the game will continue on. I do agree though, I play the game for the community, not because this is the most unbelievable game I've ever played that I just can't stop.

The thing is, SGW is different to any other game... the whole attacking system is different, you can mass effectively and farm very easily.

because knowing my luck i would end up in a sandwhich between the planets of jake and sti .
been there done that its far too scary for me

wait, that's new... aren't TO-Omega sandwiches normally made of 2 TO members and 1 Omegan?

Maybe I missed something here, but in BL1P's list I see 1 Omegan, 1 DD member, and 1 TO member.

I just got into because my friends did. I dont think the Star Gate bit of this game is the thing keeping us here. Well it isnt for me anyway.

Thats why I said MOST people watch Stargate. But I agree with you on the SGW theme not necessarily being the thing that holds us here. It isn't for me anymore.
And I agree with Bl1p, hopefully some 3d company will take it over and introduce a new way for the game to follow.

Gears Of War wrote:personally i dont think the ganme will be around for ages, due to the fact it is to one dimensional and never has changed significantly.
It is 2 dimensional 1-d is left and right which does not truly exist really because even a line has up and down which is 2-d
1-d = left and right
2-d = left, right, up and down
3-d = left, right, up, down, forwards and backwards
4-d = left, right, up, down, forwards, backwards AND moving
Not sure about 5-d or more

well I think history of gaming proven that graphic doesn't asway = good, alot of the old games I ever played are my top games even now and I still go back to them if XP let me with some, and the new ones can be completed and very rare i go back to them. 10years only if someone else buys it or admin does really want it to give up, I think it easerly do 2-3years, but who knows just wait and see.

I know what you mean by this, for exaple.. StarCraft BroodWar, is still one of, if not the best RTS game around.. Blizzard made the game so well, and made sure it was balanced that it has lasted nigh on a decade. Even though there are other RTS games around with better graphics, more units, more races.. they aren't better games.
I just hope they make SC2 as well as they made SC:BW...
