It should already be slightly harder for first time ascenders to reascend due to the cost of ascension and the fact that a 5% bonus on all stats and no unique tech makes them slightly weaker than the starting races, but once they have ascended for a second or third time this is going to become more of a problem. However as it is the idea of making ascention easier is still a bad one.

How about the great wall of china...heard of that one...its that massive wall built to fend off the invasions from the Huns in the north after the unification of China. How about the city of Troy (which took a freakin miracle to get into)...what about Fort Knox? The bismark? I think you get my point.

Great Wall of China: History indicates it was breached by invaders more than it kept them out.

Troy: Failed through sheer stupidity.

Fort Knox: People have the wrong impression of what Fort Knox is. Sure it is a gold depostiory (and a pretty crappy one by todays standards) - but it is protected by a shed load of troops - and I believe it has been breached on more than one occassion (and I'm not talking about Auric Goldfinger! :-D ).

Bismarck: Wasn't that sunk?

I know I seem to be banging on about the same thing - but getting into the top 100 for the original races isn't the problem - it is the fact that it is too easy for the new races.

Have I managed to get that across yet??

and lets not forget the greatest defensive structure of the modern era, the Maginot Line!

its easy for the new races because of all the uu people transfered away before ascending. perhaps taking a page from qauntum is in order. the ascended races cant trade uu, or limit it to that they can transfer them away they just cant recieve any?

Well bud - it might just come down to having to be that severe if no other solution can be found.

well i like it costing more and more UU eack time you want to ascend. It would defently clear out the upper ranks huge head start on UU and also make it take longer and longer to reascend. if it just cost 100,000 more each time bye the time people ascend a fourth time they will have spent 1,000,000 uu total now for me that seems like an insane amount. (i added how much you would need eack time to ascend 100,000+200,000+300,000+400,000)

That would certainly make reascending far more difficult but maybe make it not quite such a harsh penalty of an extra 100k uu maybe 50k or so to make it possible for the smaller players in the top hundred to reascend, if you make it to harsh then people will just decide not to ascend and then there will be no turnover in the top 100.

ummm.... im not qutie sure what i was rantin about... i think one of two things happend...
#1. I tend to surf with firefox, and when i do, i like open up 10 and soemtimes up to 50 or so windows in it, involvin other browsers occasionally, and when i do sometimes i accidently respond into the wrong column after i get done reading something caus i jump around between them sometimes.
#2. the other possibilitie is that i was argueing with someone and they deleted thier posts which is why it owuld look like i had doubleposted...

i just went back an read it a second time, i think waht happend was that i was for some reason first commenting on a change on how quantom is played by chooseing a different point in the sg1 timelineeach itime to start out in,
then i was just sayin that i dont much care whether they add it or not, since it really doesnt affect me since im so new, but that it sounds like a decent addition and it could be done in a way to givc the rewards split up so that the top 100 people for covert would get a third (now a fourth) of what they would get if they had a balanced rank under a hundred,
while the same thing would occur with people ranked for offense under a 100 and for those with defense rankd under a 100 which wuold still be the same glory points, but more spread out and soemwhat easier for people to grab hold of.

thier was another thing i was saying, but it comes down to basicly this as far as glory goes, perhaps ur untrained soldiers could form a village which would slowly expand and increase soldier production, slightly increase glory over several months, increase naq production through economy an such, and perhaps even depending on the level of the citey develop thier own defenses an spylevels
( but perhaps only if their citey was like, instead of the town level, perhaps at the Capital level of a citey since they hold high security vaults) this would aid people when trying to crush enemys that if they chose to attack the citey instead of the regular target they could also kill the untrianed soldiers, raid the bank an raze the citey and its spy levels an such.

....im not normly this long winded... i just enjoy typing to much... sorry...
