If she's an impressionable idiot to the point that it takes a Rolex around your wrist to win her, she's probably not worth having.

And a point of just having a little fun with Buck is lost on Ancient Anubis!

Congratulations, I do not actually think that a rolex would make a girl go for Buck, Buck can do that himself. I was just having a little fun with him, as were most people on this topic with the idea. However senor kill joy stopped on over.

Good going detective [Spacey edit out], you caught me.

It's not having fun with buck that I mind, I've had enough of you and your watch babble. Newsflash: it's not THAT great. :o However when I said "she," I wasn't talking about Claire, I was talking about a girl or girls in general.

God forbid it also be lost on Spacey though, being as he thought the Rolex was a waste of money.

Ancient Anubis I'm having a hard time explaining this to you. I don't care what you think, for one you cannot insult someone without [Spacey edit out.] an apropriate insult. So hows this, you...you...you human [Spacey edit out.], this agression will not stand man.

since this thread looks like if i started it heres my 2 cents:

1. being able to save/make enough money to buy 20k watch makes one a man
2. having 20k watch makes no difference
3. feeling like a man because of having 20k watch makes one a sissy
4. i'd prefer my girl loved ME, not my car/watch/suit/mansion/whatever
5. here's my watch:

Image

- it's fuji (has anybody heard 'bout them?)
- it has all the functions i need (no poshie show-off shiny watch i've ever seen has them all at once).
- it's served me well for over 10 years now without any complications.
- it cost me the equivalent of E25 (10 years ago)
- it's my only watch

Its just a watch. It will never be anything more.

Its about what you do with yourself.

1: Thats true.
2: No of course not, When I said having a rolex would help win the girl it was a joke. However thats hardly the point of owning one of them,
3: em..of course.
4: True enough  as I said before all comments about winning a girl with a rolex were meant as a joke too buck.
5: Thats a decent watch, however when you get high class 10 years is nothing. I have a high class pocket watch from 1880 running with absolutely no problem at all.

Let me explain why I love these high end watches. Not because their expensive or that they'll win me girls, Not to flaunt my wealth or anything like that. I just truly enjoy watches. Their a hobby of mine, (which I might add everyone seems to think is a fetish when their mad at me, WTH?)
And they are a great thing to collect. However you can hardly collect a nice collection with Fuji's, Timex's and all those. Those are boring. Heres why I love High end watches.

Open up the back at a jewelers if you know anything about watches you will see the pure beauty of those workings, open up a patek Philippe (Note: open these at a patek Philippe store...not a local jewelers) and see pure gold, diamonds, ruby's all hand wraught to make a brilliant time piece for the world to see. Thats why I love them, the pure beauty of them when you really love watches.
