Go drivel about it somewhere else, they're not going to change their frickin' motto because you, being the historian you are, do not agree with the use of their phrase, which they haven't explicitly stated is Roman. What the heck, is this what the forum has descended to, pettiness above and beyond?

One last time miss. I DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR MOTTO!!!! "We make war that we may live in peace." which is posted on your sigs. So you guys are hypocrites now? As you fight for peace but you guys don't want others to have peace?

AA: I am glad I am talking about their "motto" (We make war that we may live in peace.) When I said their sig on my first post? Yes?

Thankfully not the boy loving

Look Stephen chill man its a quote, Roman's were famous for taking something, improving it, then calling it their own.

Yes I know. But they never said that. That is my point. Roman is not Greece. Greece is not Roman. Just have the same culture.

Titania: My point is that the quote on the Sig's are not right.

Mr. Brown: As I know that too. But they never took this. lol They changed it to what is TL's motto.

I really don't think you had any point, simply wanted to look intelligent and cultured.

Good god, how do you function? You're the only one who gives a crap, and you realize they're just going to point and laugh at you, right? They've had this in their sigs for, oh I dunno, as long as their alliance has existed, and you're just now noticing and bothering to bother us with it? Where oh where has The Legion claimed that they have found evidence that it was an original Roman saying? While it might not be Roman, it certainly fits.

If it will validate you however, then I'll admit that quote is not inherently Roman, however I don't think the Greeks copyrighted it, either that or the copyright has run out, so I do believe they're free to use it. Just drop it for god's sake.

seriously and for someone who is making such a damn fuss because they are becoming a "historian" you would think he might try to read Publius Flavius Vegetius Renatus' Epitoma rei militaris before he starts saying that its not found in Rome. Seriously. This is just becoming silly.... go learn latin and read some Roman texts instead of starting silly little debates over an alliances motto....

LMAO!!!! Look bud, I just seen their sig tonight as I don't use the forum much. lol Mate you are so wrong. They have no evidence. lol The "si vis pacem para bellum" means Not "If you want peace, prepare for war." "We make war so that we may live in peace"

And seeing as their motto is "If you want peace, prepare for war." Which contradicts with their sig.

Titania: Stop I am not talking about the **Filtered** Motto

oh please by all means keep it up. this is extremely amusing.

I didnt say our motto is a word for word translation of the Latin phrase, I said it comes from it.

AND OUR MOTTO IS IN OUR SIG.

sheesh.
