This should sum up my opinion on religion & god (yeah NOT capitalized, what are you going to do about it?).

"To you I'm an atheist; to God, I'm the Loyal Opposition."
Woody Allen

"The opposite of the religious fanatic is not the fanatical atheist but the gentle cynic who cares not whether there is a god or not.
Eric Hoffer

"I believe in God, only I spell it Nature."
Frank Lloyd Wright

I'm just curious, why do those who believe there is no God care that others around them believe in a God? I was watching a debate the other day between two Christians and two atheists, and wondering why the atheists even cared in the first place.

I think its very cool you opened this topic for debate, I hope that even though you do not hold to a belief in God you will still treat the subject with a degree of reverance out of respect for your fellow man.

I want to make myself available to you, so that you may ask me what ever questions you have regarding christianity.

You may do your best to stump me, to find a flaw in scripture or even in the very question of God. If you so desire do your best and I will answer all the questions that I am able to. Be careful though many a person has set out on the task of attacking truth and ended up on their knees before God confessing their life to him. I am not afraid of the questions I welcome them. Just try to be respectful, as I will always do the same.

I am not a bad guy nor do I believe you must believe what I do, you are entitled to your own choices in life, so I am not here to chnage you or convince you. I am only here to be of service

Because both sides care about truth, we just have different views on that truth

Atheist - a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings.
A lot of people who claim to be an atheist just think it means not believing in religion.

well there are three main reasons.

1. Some atheists/agnostics (such as myself) just love to argue, whether it be about God, rabbit food, or the Beetles. It is a pointless argument, because no one can ever win, but its a bit O fun.

2. Some, would see that their point of view is correct, and wish/demand that others see the light, or in this case, lack of it. Because they're that narcissistic.

3. Finally because they are spiteful gets and just want to ruin someones beliefs and get them down and doubting.

Please refer to the above link. The Bible makes mention of dinosaurs a number of times, just not by the names that they have been given since The Bible was written.

The reason we care is because we don't want people around us wasting their life with religion, basically we are trying to create a better society for our children.

aye. all the same: "we want to create a better society and cos we know better we want youse to do what we think is good for youse, and religion is not so youse shall abandon it".
just to let ya know this attitude is responsible for the worst regimes and social disasters in history (nazism, communism, slavery, genocides etc).
can i ask where your arrogance comes from and why you deny ppl FREEDOM?

Religion denies ppl freedom, I just want to show them that they have a choice.
