no such thing as dirty tactics. People cry dirty tactics and that is one reason for so many stale mates in wars now adays. Losing morale is one way to lose a war. Losing your planets and your officers both help you lose morale.
As long as what your doing is within game rules, then game on I say. Cuz this is what we call a war game :-D

Re: What in your opinion is 'Dirty Tactics' in a war

Officer massings are completely legit tactics, cut off their supply lines. Now warning officers to leave, then letting them leave, then massing them is a dirty tactic.

Planet theift is also a legit tactic. if you leave your enemy with the ability to gain resources faster then you, your a fool.

Deascention is a legitamate tactic, the servers are afterall Linked, I personally think the idea is foolish but its legit.

In my eyes a list of Dirty Tactics would be,,,

1.Starting a fight you can't win and running for help while talking trash.

2.Going back on your word when it comes to predefined and agreed upon conditions to the war.

3. Building 1 massive stat ( like strike or MS) to do massive amounts of damage to an oppenent, then selling off so there can be no retrobution, or sending your MS every day so it cant be damaged. Gorilla Tactics when used on the offensive is the dirtiest tactic there is to me personally. Since Admin seems to favor this tactic now I conceed it is a legit tactic, just dirty to me.

The funniest (and dirtiest) tactic I have ever seen was buying someone on the opposing ppt just as they started their first one for the week - thus limiting them to one for the week.

SGC's view on "dirty tactics"

First of all there is no court of opinions in this game, do what ever u want, do your hit and runs, do your back stabbing take planets turn your backs on NAPs, do what ever you feel is right to make your self happy...honestly

For example if u had the capabilities to mass me, what is really stopping you Nobody....because it is you controlling your feelings your computer your account...take away your feelings form this game and just go and do it...hell man most of these ppl dont give a 2 cents rats ass about you until it involves them

Cuase i had times where i have missed too many opportunities during my play time in this game and i keep telling myself man i should of done that or that

Re: What in your opinion is 'Dirty Tactics' in a war

I agree with lore on all but 1 point. Guerrilla tactics are just as valid as any other. As stated with planets "if you leave your enemy with the ability to gain resources faster then you, your a fool." I find that if you leave out your "resources" to get destroyed, then your a fool.

Why leave a big strike out to get sabbed and give your enemy something to do, when you can sell it, lose much less naq, and keep your enemy bored to tears ;)

And planet stealing is a perfectly valid tactic, they are a form of stat, and just like any other stat, they are free game. If you choose to invest alot into planets, be sure you can handle it when thier taken, or just dont get into wars ;)

Re: What in your opinion is 'Dirty Tactics' in a war

there anr e no dirty tactics in this game aside from people uing multi accounts..

you dont want officers hit them dismiss them
you dont want to lose planets them lerlin them
you dont like people massing u withh huge ms then mass there ms..

one trick ponys are a tactical advantage some players have.... lets call them "special forces" ;)

so unless you cheat all is fair game.... you dont have to like it but you do have to deal with it when your at war...
lets make a better point... avaoid war all together... farming an alliance may get a pm to stop
farming war happy alliances will get u massed over 1 hit.... you know what you do if u dont care then fine go solo
show that you dont involve your comrads on your own foolishness ... if they like the war too then cheers we can all have fun :)

either way its the way u personally agree to things...

alliances with similar views may agree to a war to end on a certain day
other may have have clauses in a war..
depemds on what u get
to each his own enjoy!

Re: What in your opinion is 'Dirty Tactics' in a war

I say being a mean person in general is a dirty tactic...

I mean, it hurts feelings and provokes anger... and it may raise blood pressure which leads to a heart attack and thus damage to self worth in real life... which is dirty :P

well, other than that, hitting alliance members and officers is dirty, and people gaining up on 1 person...

planets and other servers are okay to me :S

Provoking Anger is a very good tactic tbh Starry, people do really stupid things when angry, lol.

The only dirty tactics are blackmail and massing of innocent parties in my opinion.
