He was an actor, he didnt milk cows.
Indeed, Booth was a popular actor. He was most certainly NOT in league with the Author of Uncle Tom's cabin. Booth was involved in a plot with four or something other conspirators to take out various high ranking members of the Union, he shot Lincoln, another one stabbed the secretary of state, and the others failed IIRC.

IIRC it was actualy a barn in a farmhouse.
Either way, he didnt get out til that building (and him) were full of lead.
And booth DID break his leg jumping from the balcony, and a Dr named Mudd treated him not knowing who he was, the Drs reputation was ruined after that and it spawned a slang term as well.
sorry for the more spam, but one of my friends great great or great great great grandfather was Dr Mudd.

The lady that wrote that, Harriet Stowe or something like that was in league with the vatican. The man that shot Abraham Lincoln, John Wilkes Boothe, when he escaped the theater where he shot the president, he escaped to Harriets home. He was found at her home. It turns out the Boothe even admitted to being a jesuit.
Harriet Stowe was against slavery
Booth was for it
They were each on opposite sides of the war.
Not sure if this was answered for you Tok`ra but the book Harriet wrote was written against slavery, yes. But is it not odd that it was that book that made a big bang. She wrote that book attempting to start a bigger conflict. It was the jesuits top priority to start a civil war in the U.S.
EDIT: And yes, Harriet and Booth where working together. Both where doing the jesuits dirty work.
EDIT: And to support this theory, Stowe was indeed a catholic. She was devout in her religion as she claims she received the idea for her book while at church. It is an interesting link between her and the jesuits, basically the henchmen of the roman catholic church.
