That would make sense.

The solution could be set up to only send one notification per event then (event being raids, attacks, war declarations, etc). To reset after user login. That's common with most forum notifications, you only get notified on the first occurrence, that would reset after you log in.

That would prevent you from getting several hundred messages, and also greatly reduce the impact on the servers.

That would be good for some people-I think people should be able to chose from the kind of alerts they want to receive. That way you could chose to only be notified of the above, someone else could chose to be notified after any attack, etc. But yes-the two things that you mention would be the most critical ones in my opinion.

Yeah, I meant getting all those messages but if you could turn off the raids you'd be fine.

I can understand not wanting to get spammed. That's why in my first post I said that the user should be able to select which events would trigger the email, or have no events trigger it (if the user doesn't want to receive any email notifications).

Never check email? lols. Lucky people.. If I go more than an hour without checking I get the jitters. LOL

But yes, some people would not use it-thats why it should be opt in. Theres no reason to increase server load for people who don't want it.

hmm... how strange... at most, we check email about 10 times in one day... usually it is max 1-2 times... (we have sometimes gone approximately a week w/o doing it, not counting times w/o computer access)

Well, it comes with the territory I guess... At work I'm in front of a computer most of the day so I notice the instant any new message comes in... And when I'm at home I'm pretty much always online also. If I don't eat with my laptop I can be 30 minutes between checks...
