i don't know about the past...looks very troubled considering various reactions.

gl with getting ppl's forgiveness but don't expect too much and try not to care too much.

a bad history in an online community is wiped away with a simple "delete" followed by a simple "register".
basically that's what you did, i think you should not have brought in the past since it will now be much more difficult.

EDIT: however i do respect you for doing it.

I don't make bets I know I'll lose. I'd just send the naq, but I don't even have 10 naq to rub together :(

Here's the facts:

Did she lie in her mod application? Yes.
Has she lied since becoming a mod..... Unsure.

We brought in 3 new mods at once. Nimras, Reaperman, and Auriel. Nimras and Reaperman were discussed with the supermods, Auriel's application came in too late for that, however, after Baz and Smoosh discussed it, they thought it was best to give her a trial while we were giving Nimras and Reaper one.

Looking at it from that logic, I completely understand why they did it.

It was brought up in the mod section, one of the mods asked straight out, and she answered straight out that yes, she was Elladen.

That discussion is on-going. I advised Smoosh that in RL when someone lies in a job application, the boss has the right to revoke employment immediately. Smoosh decided to honour his agreement to give her a 2 week trial.

It's a bad situation that nobody really asked for. None of us said "hmm, the last mod scandal is over, do you think it's time for a new one now?"

Smoosh is just trying to be as fair as possible to his word. Just cause she's a liar doesn't mean he should be, eh?

Psi wrote:she has respect for the rules, which is something that not everyone has.
she listens when you say something, which is also not something most people do.
by posting this, it shows she's willing to stand up for her mistakes, and take responsibility for them, which is a rather rare trait.

or it shows that Smoosh told her to and she did. Respect for the rules? what about respect for the forum users? It's all well and good to respect the rules, but as a mod you need to respect the users too...

For real though, 2 weeks trial, not that long. So, just wait for her to make the mistake and lose modship.

Yeah?

And read what Psi said.

Sure, lets give Tok'Ra a 2 week trial whilst we're at it, might aswell since history seems to play no part in the decision making of the admins.

You know, it's funny, when this new team was put forward people complained, you guys said "wait and see", we've waited and what have we seen? Continuation of the Freespirit soap opera, mods fighting in public and now the promotion of someone who lied on the mod application form and previously pretended to be terminally ill to get some attention.

/sarcasm

Yup, you guys have really impressed me with the "new and improved" forum team

/sarcasm off

Well if things are as I believe, when you want a person off a community, that requires also everyone who supports this person to leave as well isn't it??
So I guess, for people who thought "damn when will he have balls to leave for real those damn forums lol" that would be your day :D

Soo...yeah that's time for me.
Maybe...

Good bye sgw forums.

That will achieve nothing, but well...that's the way things have to go!

i never said she should leave the forums, she's welcome to post and spend some time as a POSTER, hopefully proving she's not the despicable scum a lot of people think she is. What i object to is her being made a moderator.

True, but those people don't have the power to make it happen. I'm all for giving people a 2nd chance, for Elladan a 2nd chance is posting, not moderating. if she is the fantastic person you seem to think she is then surely it would be no problem to spend 3-6 months proving she has changed BEFORE applying to be a mod?

We all deserve a chance to be forgiven. What you did was wrong but as I said it is what you DID not what you are doing. If you wish to be forgiven then you are. Welcome back? I hope your stay is enjoyable and full of honesty.

I would like to state that contrary to Rienna's post, I didn't lie in my application letter.. and to anyone boldly picking up on that remark:
And Rienna, before Smooshable posted about being public, I had already shifted alliance command in preparation of that message going public (sounds to me like I was ahead of him with that initiative). :)

Although my modship isn't at the topic of discussion, the fact that it is discussed. Main topic is, as repli***tors says, my title post.
Modship is, as Psi & Mr Mystake say.

In that case they do have power to "exit" her belive me, as she's not the jerk they think she's. if she was that they think shes they couldnt get rid of her and she wouldnt care at all of everyones opinion...

You know Jim it's nice that you're smitten with her and all that, it's kinda cute, but the fact you think she's dreamy doesn't actually make many of us forget the fact she pretended TO BE DYING!!!

lol. This entire debacle should not be allowed to continue. Elladan should have been booted from being a mod. Psi and the others bring up good points, but the ultimate conclusion is she abused the community's trust and for that act a lone I cannot see how she can be trusted with her new given powers.

She should be allowed to earn forgiveness and respect back, but as a poster first, then a mod if the position is available. Probably culminating in a public vote. Lol..remember the days when some mods were voted in by the public? I believe that is only fair for both sides of the party. It gives elladan a chance, and the community can have their say, as afterall it is their opinion that matters.

Haha. Can't believe they let this nutjob become a moderator.

Just goes to show how much the forums have really 'improved' since November the first.
