This from stargate wikia about the last episode of the Season...
"Incursion" is the two-part (penultimate and season finale) episode of the first season of Stargate Universe
Production
* In an early pitch meeting, the episode's placeholder name was "Reveal team back on Earth all along. Destiny is only V.R.!" ( V.R meaning Virtual Reality). Whether this title is still related to the plot of the episode in any way remains to be seen.

I doubt it will be the way it goes in the first season.

It MAY be the ultimate conclusion of SGU... or the way they might get the teams back to earth is via the ancient coms terminal and then downloaded into new 'brain dead bodies' or replicator made forms using atlantis tech as atm it's still on earth.
Aside from speculating about an ending to the season or the show... I have to say in regards to the show itself..
well. It's NOT the old format of stargate so I understand why a lot of people will struggle to grasp it. They have really made to their promise of making it far more personal, but where as so far I actually think SGU has been fairly reasonable on that front I do believe keeping it there is going to quickly become boring and the show is going to struggle. At the moment they've not done enough to rope in all the idiots with enough of a kick bang start off and their massive ability of overlooking the adventures within the ship itself is hindering my interest.
Ultimately we're there to watch Sci-fi and have some fun and enjoyment. SG-1 provided that. Atlantis had a good go but was a wasted plot... and if I really wanted to watch this sort of crap for any length of period i'd have tuned into BSG..which I thought was immensely rubbish despite all the hype surrounding it.
SGU needs to start balancing their episodes a bit more. There is a massive ancient ship.. yeah they have some resource problems but they cannot spend every second of every day applying to that without logically attending to the ship itself to explore and at least speculate it's systems potential uses...for all they know a botanical garden may exist!
The going to and from earth and desperately hopping on and off destiny for limited time on random planets is going to be worn down very quickly, though I have no idea how they're going to insure a reasonable and sustainable villain when they're travelling the universe although they could 'locate' one in a galaxy and face them as they travel through said galaxy.. if not bump into the Ori. I know the ori themselves are dead.. but that's not to say they wont still have adamant followers out there and we don't currently know where they're galaxy is and further more the replicators were hopping around in space for millennia, another potential resurrection lies there.
On another point I am thinking a 'Die Hard' map may be applied to a fair few episodes. A villainous force taking over destiny for nefarious purposes.. the source of which coming from without or within...any atlantis, spoiler aware, fans will already have noticed we have our new female actress played Acastus Kolya named and the plot pointed out.
I think it's still too early days to come to an utter conclusion of SGU.. i'll wait until the end of the season before I make my final judgement.
I do however enjoy watching Ely, Scott, Everett, TJ and Rush.. I think they're very good characters for their own reasons at the moment. (some of the girls are hot too, but i've not been able to click with many as actual characters yet..even Senator's daughter or dark haired officer).
on a side note. if you need any information regarding the ancients I wrote up their history on these forums. It's in the ancient/asgard section.

With the civilians, that is expected. But not so much with the military types.[/quote]
Anyone remember the quote from SGA, was a convo between Rodney and Zelenka, was something like "never listen to scientists - always think they're in charge, doing their thing, until something goes wrong then they come begging for help"
Well imo, it would be much more interesting, and put an EPIC plot twist, if they discover that HFRs (Or something like them) have already inhabited the ship, and Season one is merely a mind probe, which, i.e. The Colonel guy discovers after finding inconsistencies, and such and such, with Season 2 about them trying to retake the ship... etc.
And in case you haven't noticed, HFR = human-form replicators

Shaun, you're a negative old horse aren't you.
There's nothing wrong with SGU. It's different. It's NOT SG-1 or SG-A for all those fan boys and fan girls out there. It's 6 episodes old and it deserves a break. If people honestly don't like it, they know what to do. Press the damn red button on their remote (the one at the top).
The show will almost certainly not see the return of the Replicators or the Ori. If you read on Gateworld.net about upcoming episodes, the finale actually concerns The Lucian Alliance and stars Rhona Mitra as a high rank Lucian called Kiva.
Cut it some slack. It's witty, and it is different. I wish people would stop being so full of old Stargate nostalgia.

Don't you know? Only three galaxies in the universe contain intelligent, space-fairing life.

Are you serious?
Edit:And we are talking about the show meaning there is only 3 galaxies in the show with this capabilities?

theres 4 if your talking about sg1 and atlantis
1milky way
2 pegasus
3 the ori galaxy
4 asgard galaxy
and theres a 5th where sg1 blew up the sun and got jumped into a unknown galaxy possibly controled by the replicators

Yuk, you said the 'V' word, wash your mouth out
As for space battles, bit tricky since they cant even turn off the auto-pilot, some genius's
One more nerdy question, if the InterGalactic StarGate needed to harness the power of a planet, and the ship just harnessed the power of a star, remind me why they cant gate home ?

the only bad thought out thing is all the complaints about this and that...
if you're so negative about it all the time, why do you watch the show at all?
just because the current episodes focus on getting the resources back up, doesnt mean that those things are the only ones happening...
for example, the communications device is obviously in regular use, but that does not mean its use is always shown... same can be said for a lot of other systems...

yes some get kissed there but they dont show full scene tho, cmone it has lil subject , its predictable : sand, dark, sun, ice, and the unknown entity.
the show is set bad, coz the group isnt skilled , except the scientist whos up all time, theres a funy fat guy , a few soldiers , doc etc ++++ a city MS.
so from waht is there in this season we cant expect any kind of action.
