The hypocrisy of the admin and mod staff is amazing. If I had any doubts about leaving the game, this thread cured me of it, thanks for making the choice easy. The arrogance of some of the mod staff, the disconnect between the higher admins and forum users, and the general lack of respect the mods show for the average user is indicative of how poorly this forum is modded.
If ETL wants to declare open war on the admins and mods, I wish him the best of luck, there isn't a shred of honor left to most of them. [Spacey edit out], I'll laugh myself sick when their precious accounts lie in ruins.
To everyone else, I suggest broadening your horizens and trying out some other games. may I suggest [Spacey edit out]. This game has long jumped the shark and is on it's way out, no sense in staying for the death rattle.
*raises cup mockingly towards mods* here's to my inclusion in the hall of shame, an honor I heartily look forward to.

What I'm hearing from the Moderators is that Jason proposed and pushed this update on them. Somehow, I seriously doubt he would have done so if
AT THE FIRST MOMENT OF ITS UTTERANCE, the moderators said, "No Jason, that wouldn't be fair and we don't want it".
Instead, the mods (likely) proposed it, Jason agreed to it, coded it, announced the release of it to the mods, and the deep dark secret was leaked to the public. There was a very real backlash from the community and now the policy is deny, deny, deny.
Deny that the mods requested the change. Deny that they asked for the update. Deny they had any involvement in convincing Jason about the update. It's only now, after being caught in the act, that the mods want to desperately disavow themselves of any knowledge or involvement.
If you had your heads about you and really wanted some perk for all the "crap and headache you have to deal with by being a mod", you would have requested a one-time ID change and blissful anonymity for the remainder of your game time.
In the final analysis, shame on you all that participated. If you wanted some perk for your efforts on the forums, you should have made that known to the public and not tried to keep it a secret. It's the denial and secretively nature of what you tried to do that is as bad (if not worse) than the silly extra market turn request.
Very disappointing, really.

I read the first page...might go back and read the other pages....
Anyway: I personally don't really care if mods get ingame bonus....seriously, the amount of crap people come on here and spew around is just silly. The petty bickerings and snide comments of "respected members" of the community must be a constant joy for mods to read....then you have the guys who purely sign up to spam or post inappropriate stuff....
If the mods get an extra MT out of it, who really cares? Are those 3 days of merlins really gonna make any difference? Are there any other benefits that actually really make a difference? Or are we al really having a moan because of 1 MT....most of the mods could buy that with a turns income anyway...
Just my feelings....*off to read the rest of the thread*

well im a mod ..i was asked to replace someone that no longer plays.. ill admit the chat section isnt that active but i like the fact that im a mod and attend the mod meetings and actually get to speak with forum one on one within those meetings.... all the recognition i need.
ive been a op(mod) on irc for a very long time and in several diff games and i have been massed, sabbed, destroyed several times over for the work and time i put into those chats for simply doing what was asked of me, and i have never asked for anything in return nor do i now.
it was the current administration of the forums which brought up the idea of "something for putting in our time". We dont deny that but the MT was forums idea as i remember from reading the log of the chat since i was not present at that meeting. I appreciate the extra ingame name.
As this affects no one this shouldnt be an issue its just simply a way of saying thank you to the current staff. Doesnt affect us at all and cetainly doesnt give us any advantage, if anything it gives us a disadvantage as we can easily be found for some one to exact there revenge on us for simply doing what were asked to do.
Now the subject of the extra MT.
Sure i wouldnt mind it i wont lie, but as it gives us an unfair advatage and the community would be outraged when it found out it can not go through .
i think youll all find that the mere suggestion of the fourth MT we all got glossy eyed thinking of the possibility's of such an advantage, but after a few days of thinking about and getting over the initial shock(OMG IM GETTING A FOURTH MT....THATS SOOO COOL) we all decided that it shouldnt be done so an email was sent to jason. as of yet this hasnt been implemented trust me i would of used it by now :p
Things are done in private for a reason people, do u actually think u know all that goes on in your own countries government thats suppose to be public knowledge? Exactly why this wasnt released to the public. anyone with half a brain could realise this would bring an outcry from the cumminty. so all anyone has acomplished in posting "private" mod sections, mod meetings, and/or irc logs(btw i still want to know how that got out.... /me goes fishing on irc

) is doing just that... creating chaos and animosity toward the current administration of these forums.
btw if u dont think certtain words and/or post can be taken out of context to make one look bad(IE spacys post) just have a look at the quote thread in the chat section. most of it wiull make u laugh but 99% of those quotes are out of context.
with that being said ive given my 2 cents......

Yes it means alot they can PPT 4 days a week and put 6days of merlin each week that means two planets instead of one for other players who have 3days if they PPTx2, to be able to keep away from any stealer. Or they can buy 1400 extra turns on the marketplace without spending 45bil/1K ATs on black market.
So yes, unfair advantage.
They could eventually attract more people with that though for being mods, but interested in sth mods they would be!

lmao if noone told us and "snitched" (its a good thing to have done it), what do you think would have happend?
One day in an msn convo a mod would have sold MTs for xy reason then buyers would have realized something fishy was occuring, they would have accused him/her firstly to b a cheater (4MTs a week, is not possible), then they would have EVENTUALLY, tried to investigate situation and talk to other mods trying to make them bring the thing out. Then they would have made a tasty conspiracy theory (true tho) topic in general section, feeding tons of flaming and conspiracy theories and then some mods would have been massed for that...that would be so if noone realized/told about it, and it being implemented!
