When you state 'the', you're speaking in past terms, as if you had removed it, as displayed in the first quotation. Even if this was not the case, it was not "obvious" at all what you where trying to prove. Just a FYI, if it was 100T and you say you got it down to 9T then that is 91T worth of defences taken, not 100T, but let's not get picky.
