The goal in 1812 of Hull's campain in Canada, was geared more towards stopping support of the British. Loyalists moved to Canada post American revolution. Yes, we did get our a$$ handed to us, and Hull ended up surrendering in Detroit. It was not our finest moment. I well say though, we got ours back at the battle of New Orleans. Also, it should be noted, that the British stopped us not Canada. As That's where alot of their bases were located. It was a war of little or no meaning, and nothing was really accomplished besides further confirming our independence, and helping establish our naval traditions.

Thank's for clearing that up, I don't know much about our past wars. So logically I didn't want to go shooting my mouth off making us Americans look stupid. :-D

BTW, i'm in souther California. I'm in the military, ummmm I don't believe in "blind patriotism" but I am a patriot. I believe that history is power. I'm quite well informed in history's regards.

Hey, I am cool with military men, so don't worry. You will not be getting any chaff from me. Besides patriots are necessary for a national identity in this country, but if you are the type to say we have and never will lose a battle, well that is irritating and wrong. But personally it is the policitans that I hate...

I live in a country that is legally not a country. Yet it has its own culture, language, religon, legal system, education system and health service. It also has its own parliament and identity, anthem and flag and proud history.

What nationality am i? :-D
