I don't see why they do that, and my post meant that. I meant that for me, all people born in UK are from UK (and on a larger extent European Union). I don't split them into regions subnations or whatever. Since I recognize UK as a real state. For me a group of two one born in Edimburg and other in Liverpool, both are from UK and EU.
