Good point except what is up with this forum and all the nazi and hitler references. they make me . They also make your argument very easy to dismiss because you've come out and made outlandish statements like that. Human beings are just complex animals and want to control everything they like and dislike, its just human nature and all depends on what can be made acceptable to the general public. Hitler hated jews and managed to convince the german army and public that the jews and other minorities were subhuman so as to make it bearable for the soldiers to massacre all those innocent people.
The war on drugs is a war on peoples liberties. Its not too bad in ireland but it has grown to epic proportions in america.

Thus far you don't get a high like you can from marijuana,unless you can prove me wrong, tea well never heard of someone coming up and say I got a high on tea. There is the coffee rush but never heard of anyone saying they had a trip on caffeine

So wait, a plant's potency marks how natural it is? Did I miss something?

Whether it's natural or not is irrelevant, Lone Dragon. I don't know why you're pushing the point the coffee and tea are "more natural". They're both directly taken from plants - same with weed.

Oh and two more things:

1. I look forward to laughing at Sandman's next reply.
2. @Avenger: the point Poppler was making is that referencing to Hitler like that is just a great way to get people biased against your argument, regardless of how logical you think your argument is. Even if it is complete and airtight in its logic, making such references will not cause people to react logically, but rather, emotionally.

i understand and appreciate what your saying, but i assume that we are all mature enough (otherwise, we would not be here discussing things ) to see past and deal with such emotions, not that i'm trying to make light humour, simply making a point of my own...

I agree go for it smoke all you like, as long as you dont harm anyone else. Mmmmm let me thing about that one what about the possibility that something goes bad say over lose its unlikely but never know, then you harm your family by you perhaps being either a corps or maybe a vegetable, yes worse case scenario but its a possibility.

As for the hitler as soon as someone starts the hitler comparison there not arguing, there accusing and the whole argument is flawed before it starts. Say a person is a megalomaniac not hitler, some people may take offense.

I as i said have never heard of getting high on tea or coffee and they all affect Ldopa production in the brain but for some reason pot appears to damage the brain and tea and coffee do not. My point before you want to distort it again is smoke is not natural to the body either cigarettes, cigars, LSD, pot, cocaine or heroin.

Plus I have no doubt that Mr sandman will reply, but I think its not right to call him Hitler.

everyone seems to have missed the point regarding the "Heil Hitler" remark...

Hitler isn't important, what's important in the point i made is, the loss of basic human rights, denying someone's basic human rights is next of kin to tyranny, absolute obedience and lack of critical thought.

Are you freakin' serious? Every film throughout the entire history of expression has been made to satisfy an agenda. This applies to "documentaries" most of all. Anyone who points to these kinds of films and claims that they are neutral needs to stop and think "who made it, and why?". Furthermore, anyone who thinks these films "only portray the facts the way they are" needs to remember that ALL knowledge is subjective.

Life would be better for everyone if all drugs were legalised and legislated.

bottom line:
IF you want people to be legally addicted to a powerful drug than say yea
if you want peace and no addictions then say nay cause this stuff will cause alot of probelms for police and just people.

I was just pointing out that, all too often, people are willing to put forward opinions and agendas as clear-cut facts.
