given the significance of he battle and its outcome, and the pacing of the episode had they switched between storylines like a normal episode it would of lost all momentum.
I dont think you quite grasp what was at stake, the outcome of that has implications on every character and storyline bar maybe jon snow
Awesome peice of TV one of the finest episodes of any series ive seen.

Was the best episode of season 2no doubt, made up for the slow pace of the episode before.
Tyrion was awesome as always. Waiting week to week is not cool.

It was the best episode of Game of Thrones thus far, in my opinion. The last episode of season one was close in terms of emotion and grip though..

I watched season 1 all together pretty much so its epicness wasn't broken up in to episodes

Nice season finale
Loved what happened to Theon..
but who burnt the winterfel??
how did the guys escape? i really didn't understand what happened
I actually thought the dwarf would go to the other land meet the dragon lady there.
Also, WTH happened to Stanis? Is he now a prisoner?
or is he dead? Its kinda clear that the red lady is mindcontrolling/hipnotizing him..
I have a feeling when Jaime gets back to his home land, he will help the Starks by sending the Stark Daughter with the ManLady
I felt alot of hte dragon lady storyline till now was kinda useless..
She keeps referring to "my people are waiting for me", I ask which people?? are they gonna introduce more cities/castles in season 3 that will aid her?
Again favourite character = the master of the whispers, and the assassin!!
We'd answer most of those questions, but that would spoil much of the story... but we'll answer a few...
Stannis got away, returned to Dragonstone. Its not specified how he got out of the city, but out he got.
The Bastard of Roose Bolton and his five hundred northmen burned winterfell for reasons unspecified.
If by "the guys" you mean the iron-born that Theon had with him? they traded him for safe passage. If you instead mean the youngest Starks, they hid in the ancient catacombs of House Stark through the entire burning.
The Daenarys storyline is, like most of the other storylines, still building up. There are many cities not used so far in the series that are of varying importance. It will take quite some time before she goes to the seven kingdoms.
The other questions will spoil too much to answer...

No, lol. Season 4 will be the second half of the 3rd book. Two important things happen in that, but nothing too bad for Kings Landing itself, five of the central characters get twisted a bit though.
