For those of you that dont know me, i work for british intelligence, CID and now MI6 are going to get involved and if need be the army and SAS. We would be greatful if any members of the public are free to volunteer and help like the 50 members in manchester that helped take the kids of the streets, telling them to go home, etc... some of these were fathers and sons.

Cobra met today, as GC wrote. You said you worked for MI6 on our forums - not entirely sure what internal riots have to do with foreign intelligence? Please tell me you don't seriously think the gov't want more people out on the streets arguing with rioters? Recipe for disaster. And as for "if need be the army and SAS" - seriously?! What BS?! If the British Armed Forces are EVER used against civilians in England, I'D be on the streets protesting. That **Filtered** don't fly. Heck, before then you have water canons, rubber bullets, reading the riot act, suspension of habeas corpus....then the reserves as a last resort!

EDIT: Chairing a meeting means you're the person directing discussions AT THE MEETING. Now if you mean you're in on the SECOND cobra meeting happening tomorrow, then fair enough....but you seem to have a strange concept of what is going on there....?

Sorry for the diversion here.

The community will do whats necessary to analyse the situation and we, who protect the people will see through it.

No one is going to get away with any of this thugery, looting and damages to public places, this has shown the world what are youth's have grown up to be, parents should be looking after their kids and knowing where they are, who they are with etc...

Not sure what to believe but for the record (a) there was one meeting today and (b) there will be another tomorrow. Also, I genuinely do work in the Civil Service - which I hope won't be called into question.

Funny, as that meeting was held this morning, not tomorrow like you stated.

You are so full of crap.

GC?.... cobra is being held 2moro for your information. full of crap u say, i do not need to proove myself or do anything, i was reading this and just wanted to help out and let everyone know we are doing what we can. Advice, and prevention

Allow me to quote a small part

The PM cut short his holiday to chair a meeting of the Cobra emergency committee in Downing Street on Tuesday.

I believe today is Tuesday, and tomorrow is Wednesday.

Thank you please come again.

Stop being a **Filtered** and go look at this.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-14460554
Do a search for the word COBRA and you WILL see they are meeting again today at 09:00. Yes that's TWO COBRA meetings in TWO days. So get your facts before trying to look smart.

GC Fail.

~Uzumaki Naruto~ wrote:you misunderstand the meaning of chair and actually having the meeting take place.

Sorry if you misunderstood what we mean by chair, just means he's preparing for the meetin my friend :)
Dude! What the hell? Sorry but you misunderstand the meaning of chair.

Every meeting generally has a chair, the chair is the person that leads the meeting, the person that kicks the meeting off. It doesn't just mean the person that prepares for the meeting as everyone prepares for the meeting.

If someone is chairing a meeting right now it means they are in a meeting right now leading the meeting. The meeting is taking place at that point in time. Just as the news reports in the link i provided the PM will be chairing a COBRA meeting again today.

So i'm sorry but it is you that don't understand what chairing a meeting means, not GC.

The UK Riots.

Ian Tomlinson is brutally killed by police while he was delivering newspapers at the G20 summit, but when it comes to marauding scum torching historic buildings with total disregard for the people they put in danger by such actions, beating people for no reason, destroying peoples livelihoods and looting everything in sight...well, the police just stand back and watch.

What sickens me more in this whole affair is the lack of police action. this all seems engineered to illicit a specific response, and that response will be more loss of our freedoms!

Absolutely sickening!

LMAO!

Demonstrating absurdity using absurdity:
Cameron to Step Down, Recognize Rioters as Legitimate Government? (SATIRE) by Paul Joseph Watson.

UK rebels to be given own embassy as humanitarian intervention looms

Given the fine example set in Libya, it follows that the rebels who expressed their grievances against the establishment last night by burning and looting half of London and other cities around the UK should swiftly be given their own embassy and declared the legitimate government of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

David Cameron and the Queen need to relinquish power immediately now that their authority to rule has been so clearly and justifiably undermined.

The actions by police to disperse these rebels also amounts to an international war crime and mandates an immediate humanitarian intervention from the NATO powers.

If Cameron and the Queen fail to step down and recognize the rebels as the legitimate government, US warplanes are on standby to enforce a “no fly zone” over Great Britain.

Reports are also circulating that NATO could target the Prime Minister and his entire family for assassination if he refuses to vacate London.

The rebels who are attempting to liberate themselves from a corrupt regime by ransacking JD Sports clothing outlets should be be embraced, commended, and supported by the international community.
I heard they coordinated their riots using Blackberry Messenger.

Claiming these riots were caused by poverty and unemployment is an INSULT to anybody whose been unemployed, like I have, or poor, and has an ethical backbone and isn't rioting. It is NO EXCUSE WHATSOEVER. There are far poorer countries than Britain, with no welfare state, which don't erupt into anarchy. No excuse, whatsoever. None.

in small countries with almost no welfare these things happens rarely because peaple cant afford being even one day un-employed, and gov maintain a poor status of slavery against them to ensure security. u can google Albania 1997 to see whats the wrath of the people vs the system who robber them on a daily basis and we talk after.

And this isn't the case in the UK so I don't see your point...that's in fact because the UK isn't one of those countries where the state robs its people off like Mubarak's Egypt or Ben Ali's Tunisia did, that people have no sympathy *at all* for the thugs rioting. Because there's no damn reason to do what they do. As it's not even protesting with political reasons, it's just a giant robbing fest for them.
