hmm... by this, we guess you hint at rule 18, right?

anyways, you seem to have misread it... there is nothing bad about telling about game updates... what is bad, is telling about non-existent game updates...

J.S. wrote:The reason there are so many bannings, like the one if you post for someone if they are banned you are banned. I mean come on..

that rule, was created to prevent people from bypassing bans... the user that caused that to be created, was tok'ra...

J.S. wrote:This forum is a forum for players of the game.. If you play the game you should be entitled to post. If you don't then yeah I agree with the banning. If you create an account just to post yeah ban them.

that is fully allowed, as long as all posts follow the rules...

J.S. wrote:The reason there are so many bannings is becuase the rules where created to "help the mods" when in actual fact if the mods did their job properly in the first place, like Wolf359 or Teal'auc, you wouldnt need all the stupid rules that are there today..

they still are much guidelines, but some parts are also set in stone...
had all the rules been set in stone, then "the thread of shame" would have been much, much longer... the rules are interpreted slightly differently by all the different mods...

I find absolutely nothing wrong with telling about non existant game updates.. I really don't see the damage there..

I mean if i said, all naq income will be doubled as long as you are not over 50 million units.

How will that effect the players? People are not stupid!!! Never assume your audience are stupid!! Rule number one on a talkshow in radio..

Tok'ra is an ecxeption, I have seen him on other forums. and he is fine, one or two slaps on the wrist is all he needed and he is fine.

Right.......... What if I think that a certain mod is not doing his job properly, i report it to the Admin, and he doesn't do anything, I think (and I dont know for sure) that is why H.E. started that thread!!!

they still are much guidelines, but some parts are also set in stone...

Set the rules in stone!!! Don't allow deviations of the rules.. Scrap all the current rules and rewrite them. Set them in stone. And kick any mod who deviates too much from the original rule.

If your in that position you should be accountable for your work. If you are not accountable that IS a dictatorship!!

firstly, i dont care about all forum stuff (if a valueble member is meing tmp banned for saying the truth or a mod getting away while offending players, etc.)

but i DO care about any ingame changes cause im playing this game.
and giving a certain group of peoples that already (!) have more influence on the game then any normal guy -yup, noone mentioned that before but by modding the forum and having closer contact to admin team, you can adress your own problems and ideas way better, basically you hav ethe priveledge to influence the admin. in the whole time i play this game i never heard a mod or forum admin got paid for his voluntary work (beside some mod account moving maybe) and the forum worked as good as it does nowadays...

jason, you always been a fair guy that tried listening to players before implementing stuff, but the whole "ingame compensation for forum mods" just shows how crappy and selfish your current ingame advisors are/hav gotten nowadays (which are most probably mainly mods). taken, someone might say a MT extra per week isnt much but i consider every payment for mods as wrong, its an honor to be mod and its a floating process. no mod stays forever and its not new ones can not be found...
personally, i take the whole idea as a challenge for experienced/ long term players like myself who most prob never need a mod on forum and have put a LOT of leisure time not only into the game but also in game stuff like running alliances, forums, webpages etc. we do this for fun and to make the game better, unlike current sgw forum mods.

bottom line:ill accept the challange and im looking forward to see how you react on some more whining from mods side within this week. maybe an extra ppt per week will be added, so the mods can hide ingame so they got more time to mod some posts or ban valuable community members

we will see, respectfully

ok, i see many people complaining about the advantage of an extra mt for the mods. i'll give you a comparative analysis from my time as admin.

ok, on a daily basis, when i was actively admining, i would spend around 2-5 hours on the forums just on catching up to what was posted during the night, and modding anything overlooked. after that, i would spent maybe another hour later that day on and off reading, and modding.

now, total this is 3-6 hours of modding PER DAY. now, raiding, how much can you raid in an hour? now times that by 3. if it's more than the value of a MT, i think you have no right to complain about them getting an MT.

now... the truth of the matter, is i was way too heavily involved, and most mods would barely hit two hours. however, the forum was half the size it is now when i did that... so you see how if i had kept it up, i'd basically have a full time job with just modding the lot of you.

this job takes up time, which just as much as commodities in game, is a resource. but, time also applies to outside of the game as well.

So you stopt being a mod , and had more time to do other things .

Did you ever expect / ask perks when you were a mod ?

And if your anser is no , why did you not ask ?

Woa, what a load of crap, if I had to put up with this id want something for it :D

All this mods getting unfair advantages and generally being bad, golden coming from you rhett. If you don't like it now you know how a lot of people felt 2years or so ago.

Of coarse you'll deny it and give some logs or proof of making me look stupid, but thats what I expect.

even though we're not the one you asked, we'll answer...

we did neither ask, nor expect perks for modding... when it was suggested, we were quite suprised... also, as Forum said, it was his idea, not the idea of any mod...

now, find something else to gnaw at... maybe that new community site... it looks like it needs some new bitemarks...

I personally wouldnt mind if they did, this game is so **Filtered** up anyway its not going to make much difference.

nor do they gain anything ingame...

the MT thing was decided to cancel before being put in... and no replacement is even being thought about, simply because a small line of text, the title, is enough... that is what all the mods have agreed upon...

also, that title may also become available to the public later on, but Forum has not decided whether to do that or not...

It was already said million times -- so once more, last time for all of you:

THERE WILL BE NO 4TH MT. FORUM MODERATORS WERE AGAINST IT SO DESPITE ADMIN JASON WANTED TO GIVE IT OUT AS HIS THANKS, IT WAS CANCELLED. ONLY SYMBOLIC THANKS WHICH WILL REMAIN IS SMALL TITLE UNDER OUR NAMES.

I hope that way it's better for understanding for everyone. I am locking this and I expect no more topics of such kind.

Teal'auc

admin last word: yes. issue is gone, so no issue.
the only thing i add: if you have a problem with a mod, report it to the mod admin agapooka / pookie. while no official elections are held, there is a process to report bad mod behaviour (or to volunteer to be a mod).
closed.
