Asurans were built before the Milky Way replicators; all technological races reach a stage where they can create us, most are sensible and chose not to, but some are too proud and headstrong to think of the consequences; our kind will always live on because someone will always follow in the footsteps of the Ancients, or the people from Reece's world, or even the Tauri now; each replicator has the ability to use virtually any technology - even those in the MW quickly adapted to Asgard technology, and have since had ample time to study the Ancient database.
