ascending is for playing another server...i have no wish to play that server... so frankly, i like the idea of spending my g and r points. While you are correct about opening up another server, it is no secret that Ascended players on this server enjoy the power spike offorded by whatever level they have ascended to. If this were not the case, then Bahamut would not have an arguement. So dont delute yourself in thinking that there is nothing to gain from Ascension on this server.

i never said that there was no benifit on the main server. If you read that, then i would get your sight checked........What i said was. Ascended players get bonuses in 2 servers....I am asking to buy them in 1 server. You still have an advantage of playing 2 servers, plus additional bonuses in that server. Enjoying that power in main IS nice, and not many non-ascended players will have the same power... But, I am asking for equal footing on the non-ascended server...(non-ascended). Like i said, you get 2 bonuses. i get one. I still don't see the problem.

I think the problem most people have with it is that if you just bought bonuses with G&Rs then you wouldn't have had to go through all the resets and the incredible losses to your account to have the same bonuses on MAIN as the ascended people do. Getting G&Rs is ridiculously easy now for you to just have a G&R kind of shop. And to be honest.. 90% of players ascend for the bonuses in main and just ignore the ascended account.

they transfer uu to other players loss of 2% (2×1%) per ascension

and the others i can't tell u here but i can on msn ( msn is my profile )

so total raw cost for ascension are something u may get in 7 days of quality farming

heck, if you want losses. make it so you cant send your stuff away before you ascend..rofl that would be some funny shizzle. No, they want to feel special. Once you accrew a certain amount of miners(usually in the min.) It becomes easy to ascend multiple times. Become a living god. And laugh at weaker players. This, allows players who dont wanna ascend, but want to gain rank easier a chance to, without having to...Ascend. If people want to ascend just for main, well, they are ascending for the name tollan or somewhat, and for bonus.. yes they have to rebuy spy levels...oh boo hoo, that's hard. the min spy level isn't 26 or somewhat, but alot lower... The UP loss sucks. if you have the 20k up...otherwise, it's not that bad, with the min that is in place... So I stand by G and R points for bonus's. Frankly, I haven't heard a decent argument besides "but we wouldn't be as special then..." rofl. Time to make the unascended server alittle more fair to the unascended.

i say if you do not want to ascent, then don't cry about g&R points are a waste. the only part i agree they should be used to buy stuff from the market like it is right now. that you can trade for full SS. if anyone with G&R points want bonusses then ascend.

I used to think that it wouldnt be to bad to use G&R points for bonouses without ascending but reading pianomutts post I have totally changed my mind.

If it is so easy to ascend and get back your covert levels and Up etc etc then GO DO IT if you want the bonouses otherwise bad luck, stop whining.

True, true. For most you dont' lose much. but i have massive UP and level 26 covert.......thanks but no thanks.

Piano - how long ago did you get 26, 25, 24? There must have been a conscious decision at some point to say "no I dont want to ascend I just want to build my base account"

Losing so much is a non-descision, the amount of naq required to rebuild is just insane and I guess it comes down to that decision maybe 3 months ago when you chose not to ascend and just build.

On the flip side to that (I know you dont really care about playing ascention) if you ever did ascend you would get a massive boost in the other server.

I think when I first ascended I lost covert 23 which was quite high at the time, hard choice to make and I have lost maybe close to 1 mill UU from ascending plus many billions rebuilding every time. I guess thats the advantage of someone willing to put in that effort and resources.

Back on topic - I think G&R should be able to be used to gain VERY small advantages, maybe spending 5000 G&R to get a +1%(max 5% in any one stat) bonous or something similar, if the bonus is too high then you take away from the effort many people have put into ascending.

Or I think someone suggested 1000 G&R = 1 name change, or 1 race change, minor non-game but helpful bonus.

I don't think he said that you did say there was no benefit in Main - but I think he was trying to point out that some players regard the bonus you get in MAIN as more beneficial to the bonus you get in ascension (which isn't really a bonus as you simply add to the power of your ascended account using the points you gain in main - so really, the only BONUS is in Main).

I for one prefer the bonus in Main over what happens in the ascended server - and I don;t really see how you can say that playing in 2 servers is and advantage?

The fact you are asking for equal footage sums it up! Why should you have equal footage for not ascending? The existing bonus is, after all, in recognition of teh fact that you have ascended - and the more you ascend, the greater your bonus! Funny old thing, it is just like a God bestowing more and more power on his follower as he gets more and more powerful (I reckon I might be on to something there! ).

The problem is that ascended players don't want to see non-ascended players on 'an equal footing' - mainly because it is hardly fair. Now, Bahamut's ideas (seemingly lost now in the grey midst of tis thread) had some credibility, but people now seem to have gotten away from that - perhaps if his ideas were brought to the forefront again, we could discuss those.

Like Mango said - you must've made a decision not to ascend and some point and concentrate on your stats - the point is that everyone had that choice.

Additionally, I like some of Mango's ideas (5000 G&R for a 1% increase in a stat - max 5% increase per stat) - probably one of the better posts in this thread. Now you might say 5000 G&R is high - but then you don't have to have your account reset, therefore you don't lose your place in the ranks - and since a lot of the arguments around not ascending is because you would lose all your high stats (UP/Spy level etc) - then this would seem to be a good trade off.
