First of all, I agree. That would simply settle things once and for all.

I dont know how else to put this, Hammy and many others have tried, but Ill try again - originally, the bonuses for your main account were never considered. Im pretty sure that when I ascended for the first time last september, I didnt even know about them. Ascending was for getting access to another server AND THATS IT. Then, at some early point during the implementation, the mighty admin decided that we glorious ascendeds deserved some sort of bonus, some kickback for taking the risk, ascending into the unknown, and losing those supers and spy lvls and etc. And the ascended bonuses were born... as an afterthought!

Yes, you didnt know this. Yes, ascension is hush-hush material. But the whole reason we do that is to keep it a risk! That's what its intended to be - a transformation so incredible that noones really supposed to know if they'll gain from it or not. And with that come all the risks of descension and losing those bonuses on main.

Once again, for the umpteenth time, I strongly strongly doubt ANYONE will be descended 'just for the hell of it.' Ie - dont piss anyone off, youll be fine (this constant heckling and reposting of the same exact points in this thread constitutes pissing us off btw lol, as well as my taking time away from breakfast to clarify this, again).

Stop pissing people off - and your ascended account will live forever in quiet infamy. Once again, Id recommend actually trying the damn thing - you ascended yesterday, cant even try to play one day? But whatever, your choice. Just know that there are risks in every server. In most servers, those risks are localized. However, seeing as how main and ascension are inextricably linked, risks you take in ascension (ie not playing, pissing people off), CAN have an effect on your main account.

I cant state it any better than that. For your own sake Tok'ra, please read that. And hammy - hes in my alliance, (insert 'shake fist angrily' smiley), dont you dare descend him.

I am not sure that everyone agrees with this, we are but a small proportion of those playing ascension.

I personally feel that somehow those who just play ascension for the main benefits should be allowed to leave ascension without loss but those who wish to actively participate should be rewarded for doing so with maybe new bonuses ( with added risks naturally.) which might be lost on deascension in a graded fashion. for instance you have technologies you could buy for life force Level 1-20 getting increasingly expensive. If deascended loose a level from these optional upgrades perhaps.

If these Bonus levels are worth it it will make more people play ascension

I agree but others are not therefore I was just trying to get a compromise feeling. We will never all agree that is certain

I want ascended players to get bonuses in main that those that do not play ascension are not able to get. I understand the current bonuses were for ascension but maybe it will stop the voices complaining and allow us to move on..

OK this is a long post but I have tried to structure this to make it easier to read. This is probably the most important update yet so its worth the time to get it just right.

1 - 1 v's 1. This must be enforced with no loopholes. Ascended server was always supposed to be about all against all. No alliances options.

2 - Vac mode. In Main and Ascended vac mode must definately be linked otherwise people will just go on perma vac mode. To expand on this both names in ascended and main should be made the same, how can you be allowed to hide on ascended server when the two games, as everyone clearly states, are linked.

3 - Penalties. Loosing the entire ascended bonus for a month is a big penalty to main but as has been stated there's nothing permanent about it. I would like to see permanent damage done to the ascended account, possibly losing one or more levels of 'Maximum Natural Energy Capacity' thereby making them easier to descend again next month. Personally I do not like the idea of -5% etc per descension in main.

4 - Cost of descension. How many turns or resources will it take to descend two relatively 'equal players'. I for one do not want to agree with anything without seeing how 'easy' or 'hard' it is to be descended.

5 - Cosmic Market. I'm very passive on ascended in that all I do is spend life force, DMU and build up as best I can. I make a living from raiding on main, that is the only difference for me personally on the two servers. If I were to be more agressive on ascended, how much could I actually 'do' with 48 AT's a day? With no Cosmic market place I'm not sure how much could actually happen. Of course this will impact hugely on descensions so needs to be considered very carefully. I would like to see a cosmic market place so I can do more, but I do not want to see player to player transfers possible.

6 - Powerful / older players. Can everyone please keep in mind that some of you have had a YEAR or more of building up your main and ascended accounts without the threat of being descended. Agreed a lot knew descension was being planned but you've had a year to prepare for it, newly ascended players have not. Just wanted to make people aware of this.

7 - Delete account option. As far as I can see this has not been mentioned as yet. In Ascended there is a link to 'Descend to the Physical Plane - Leave Ascension!' Having never clicked this can it be confirmed how this works. If I delete my ascension account does it remove the ascended bonuses I have on main?

8 - Comparisons. People should really stop comparing this game to the TV series. There's a lot of the game that is different but this is not the thread to discuss it.

9 - Timings. Not sure I like the timings with regards to being descended. 1 week PPT followed by 3 weeks 'no descension' is fine but, on main I'd lose my bonus for 30 days and as soon as I get my bonuses back I'd already be open for attack again. Theoretically meaning I might as well not ascended in the first place as I am now worse that a 'mere mortal' with 0% bonuses all the time. All it would take is for one powerful ascended player to make it personal and its the end of both main and ascended for me.

10 - Feedback. Can people stop threatening others over feedback given. This forum is here for exactly that, feedback and comments. Threatening people to shut up of face 'pissing off' ascended people is wrong and the mods should be keeping on top of it.

11 - Majority / Minority. Just to point out the obvious. 'The GA' have a huge presence on the ascended server in numbers and power. Because of this I imagine most would want descension to be as devastating as possible, its only natural as they have the upper hand. I'm guessing they have a lot of people on their hit list (hopefully im not one ). A reminder to forum to just keep that in mind when reading all the feedback.

12 - Testing & long term effects. Forum you most definately need to look at this from in the long term. Can you imagine if the 'caspian planet' incident was to happen on Ascended, especially if you go with permanent losses to main? Just a word of warning to make sure its tested thoroughly before being implemented.

you were told several times not to piss off the big boys but you just couldn't listen. now you wont have to worry about your main account cos it will be left with nothing anyway.

The only thing I would add to that is that main has become essentially a trading game since the marketplace. I would hate to see the same happen in ascended.

If you have to think before attacking it makes it more of a challenge. I regularly use 20k Turns on main and don't mind loosing a few if I make a mistake. Those with the capacity to use 20k turns would be masters of ascension as well as main

The really good thing about ascended is it actually requires you to think before you act.

I think the Cosmic Marketplace should be where you could buy things to help you in main server not somewhere where the powerful can purchase the means to mass lower ranked players and raid away their planets. That would destroy ascension

Agree - this has nothing to do wth the unascended.

However - whatever update is eventually incorporated should be flagged up in the 'Route to Ascension' pages - so that all potential ascendees know what they are getting into.

I made it clear in my first post what I think about the proposed update (not the post you quoted).

And stop making threats, it's totally uncalled for - come pick on me, I won't even fight back. People often having different views.......this is a game people, there's no point in playing if it's not fun.

I have'nt counted, but probably 15-20 different people have posted in this thread - by no means do they represent the nearly 2k ascended players (even disregarding the inactives) - that's all I was trying to say. But if they don't post, they have no say - simple as that. They've been given the best opportunity possible to do so.

The majority agree generally and in principle what they would like to see in the update.......let's just have the update per the majority (even if it is the minority overall) - who said anything about democracy anyway? It's the same with every (announced) update - 10-20 people air their views and Forum has been extremly accomodating (recent events prove that).

Vac mode issues can be resolved later - if vac mode is linked to main I won't like it but so be it - it won't affect me either way. But let's make one thing clear: vac mode has been used as a tactical option by players since it was introduced - I know for a fact many top players have used it in the past in one way or another on main.

For me, I want any updates and enhancements to be measured by what will make the game most fun to play - anything else is either a bonus or a hinderance.

Sorry, I know I shouldn't really be posting this - but I don't like people trying to use my words to back up their statements the way someone is and I rarely post these days esp not 3 times in the same thread.

Sure. Then if they leave ascension they should also lose the bonuses. That seems fair to me personally. If you don't want the risk of ascension then folks shouldn't get the benefits either. You can't have it both ways. Get the benefits but not risk the benefits. While other people have chosen to take the risk and keep the benefits.

If someone were to decide to leave ascension and gets to keep the benefits of being ascended on Main. That would irritate me as they effectively get an advantage over other folks just by not having the risk of losing those benefits, not to mention the folks who ascend afterwards who don't have the choice. Of course they could chose not to ascend but then they wouldn't get any benefits.

In the end it is a game, change is part of the game, as well as an element of risk. But to expect to get all the benefits and none of risks seems very unfair.
