edit; i was looking on the fifa site at the scores and i was a little puzzled as to what the bracketed score meant, for example the ger/aus game says 4:0 followed by (2:0), same with the itl/par game says 1:1 (0:1)

Another dangerous match was avoided it seems: Italy/Australia, far from each others in groups so not facing neither in round 1 or round 2.
Ask Aussies to get a proper answer on why it would be a quite electric match.

old ww2 grudge match?

FIFA suck.... a US or SK vs NK match would have been ausome... alot of people who have never watched euro football would have tuned in... think of the ratings....

but there is probably alot of good grudge matches... that might happen

Nah, it's not WW2, it's related to last world cup, and a certain match outcome in 8th finals (whatever you say Louis! ). Just as why I see why dutch people don't like Portugal.

Also, I thought US were rivals of UK despite the 51st state joke. So the rivalry should have shown up for the match and get audience..

there might be a bit of a rivalry there with US v ENG but there pretty buddy buddy nowadays and don't have the long history of vitriol when it comes to sports that a FRA v ENG or ARG v BRA

I also think the Netherlands top grudge match wound be against Spain, would it not?
