Last time I massed you, your defense was 1.6 tril. The time before that you said it was a waste of turns for me to mass you. Why are you complaining about 3 tril defenses?

Almost = Almost ,,not quite; very nearly.
Double = Double ,consisting of two equal, identical, or similar parts or things.
anyone = Anyone , all or any part of the group.
TaF = A group of players.

It does not mean everyone.

If I wanted it to mean everyone I would type everyone.

Fine, let's talk about grammar again. Anyone means any one person. That's what it means in both American and British versions of English.

If you are bigger than any one person that means *wait for it* for any person that we look at, you are bigger than them. If you were smaller than someone then you would not be bigger than any one person. You would then be bigger than most anyone or most everyone or whatever.

Of course anyone and everyone are different words, but in this case they are two different ways to say the same thing. I pity your friends who are telling you that you are right. I'm sure everyone is laughing at both of us for wasting two damn days on your inability to understand basic English grammar.

@ Osiris. Saying you have built well over a quad in defenses isn't exactly mind blowing considering we've been at war for almost 8 months. Still, I know you've built bigger than 1-2 tril defenses. I look forward to your next big (or just bigger) defense build soon. Sadly it seems that my defense builds will go to Omega this weekend, but I'm sure you'll find something worthy on me at some point in the near future.

Any group of people from this set of all people...you can make a group of people out of any collection of people.

So if you are saying your defense is bigger than anyone's defense. That means for any person or group of people, your defense is bigger than theirs.

That doesn't mean your defense is bigger than one selection of TF people. That means your defense would be bigger than any possible selection of TF people. That's why ANY is there.

The indefinite pronoun anyone (one word) refers to any person but not to particular individuals.

Anyone as a pronoun meaning “anybody” or “any person at all” is written as one word.

Any one (two words) is an adjective phrase that refers to specific individuals.

Your 10 quad defense being almost double anybody/any person at all in TAF means that for any person in TAF, your defense is double theirs.

If there exists a person in TAF such that your defense is not "almost double" theirs you could not say your defense is double any person. There is no part of this reality where "anyone" equates to some people or one subset of the larger group. If that is what you meant, you would say defense almost double some in TAF or a large portion of TAF or a selection of the people in TAF I want to include to make my talking on the forum seem slightly more impressive.

You said it fine eventually yesterday. What you meant to say was that your defense was double almost anyone in TAF. Now that statement was still wrong, but that actually had slightly more merit than this. I can't believe we're having a debate about the difference between "anyone" and "any one".
