on the topic thog: the curent team is tryn to improve conditions AKA sh*t is now allowed if i m not mistaken and medical terms such as latin words for male and female genitalias are no longer considered "swaer" words. So things are moving a bit
And if ppl dont like the "cleanness" of the IRC that is being enforced they can do what some of us who also dont like it did. Make your own chan and avoid being on the "official" channels where "rules" are enforced. With us you have to swear evry now and again else you get baned

Over a week and a half later...

...Multiple ops postings in both related threads. Not one thing done about it despite having overwhelming evidence showing clear abuse of power by breaking privacy, breaking into a channel, abusing the residents despite multiple attempts to remove and then staying in the channel as they are unable to kick you.

But the most concerning thing was this, not one thing or mistake was even admitted nor even acknowledged as a mistake. When faced with evidence and a factual post, the offical stance:

i have said all im going to say to you so i wont even reply to your post.

Considering what was said were character attacks on myself followed by ignoring the issue and just hoping it goes away, i fail to see how it was resolved or delt with appropiately in a thread on forums aptly named. The forums were used as it was the top authority and the server owner's actions that resulted in this issue. The top authority and the owner both have denied everything and refused to admit or deal with the situation.

I have waited a week and a half in a thread for any sort of responce without any success.

This is the top authority and his stance on the issue while the owner of the server is breaking all sorts of expectations (with not twice, but 5 times the kicks of any other op attributed to their name).

Another op saying something about another user behind their backs. Could have sworne that was what I was accused of and threatened with a Perma ban from the network if i said anything against Homer and his regime again despite my comments only being indirect commetaries on actions which happened as compared to their direct character/personal attacks.

This Beacon of Maturity is the person entrusted to Run IRC after having staged a coup to oust Whitey from power. He has yet to admit he has done anything wrong ever and will just ignore valid points without even acknowledging them, making sure to try lock down threads so the complaints just go away.

Why do you think i never bother with IRC, i have no particular love for TL, but i despise people who abuse their power. Life must really suck for someone to need to exercise power over others via an IRC chat.

And yes i know it's "your" server, but i guess you just like abusing "your" server so much that only people who kiss your ass are allowed to post in it.

what really pisses me off about this is Forum seems to be using the IRC as his main vehicle for talking about SGW issues, so by you banning anyone who you don't like you are screwing them out of a chance to speak to Forum about game issues.

and lets face it that is what is going on here, people you don't like get banned, people you do like (including Op's) can break the rules with impunity, but as soon as someone you dislike shows up and says 1 swear word they are banned.

Or they can stay on instead of leaving everything to corrupt IRCops...seems more logical... and you also need to think...some of the IRCops are friends with normal users...they are halfway in all this...which should they do, go behind their boss and support TLE, or go with their boss (which would not go well with their friends...), which also is why it is better that they not do anything.

To be honest if they don't have any courage to follow their convictions then they are not fit to be an Op in the 1st place.

let me make this clear, i lost 2.1 trill naq in defenses off my nice new dual planet the other day to someone in TLE and i have the constant threat of having it taken, i also have had to suffer Blahh failing to farm me (and killing hundreds of thousands of defense supers) because he's too lazy to spy me 1st, i really don't have ANY reason to like TLE.

But you know what, when i see something as blatantly wrong as this then i would rather stand with my enemies and see it fixed instead of saying nothing just because people i don't like are being treated badly by people in positions of power.

If they are against their boss's actions, but do nothing because of fear for their jobs, that's pretty lousy if you ask me ...... nd I sure as hell wouldn't stay there.

I'd rather go somewhere else then having to follow rules enforced by a boss who doesnt abide by them himself.

awww ppl calm down a bit... homer sometimes goes with impulses and says whats on his mind... that doesnt mean deep down inside hes a decent lad and can do the right thing in the end, if not in the begining.

The problem you are however describing is solved by doing the folowing:

1. while part of network may be owned by some1, it has to be recognised that the network exists to serve a purpose. And that purpose should be above desires and wishes of the owner, else the network "looses" its purpose. Being in charge often means to set aside your desire/impulses for the benifit of the "larger picture" - its probably the same as admin and the game.. the issue that was brought up lately while the game is admins and he can do whatever the hell he pleases.. if he were to randomly mess with accounts for some odd personal joy soon the population of the game would count 1 thus loosing the purpose of providing fun entertainment and role playn to the masses of ppl

2. While there have to be rules, and always will be, it has to be remembered that evrything we do "here" is ment to be fun in the first place. That said rules have to be set so that ppl are allowed to have fun.
Network rules.. should be skined down to the bare minimum that allows protection of the network and thats about it.
Channel rules may variate from channel to channel to "serve" the purpose of the channel that was created.
EG: an "ofencive" nick is a thing you can see... but i find it odd that it should be a network banable offence, as it doesnt harm the network.
It should be let down to chanel ops to decide if they wanna tolerate such a nick in their chan. Ofcourse things change if that same ofencive nick has autoscripts running annoyn evrysingle one of the network users.. msging them with misc stuf and so on...
