true for smaller guys, but not bigger ones. Look at STI, he would lose over 100 mill if he tried that.

in terms of cost MT's should be used in order to do the fusion

also, currently planets give a max boost of 50% of the stat, perhaps an artificially fused planet should give a reduced max percentage boost (30-40%). This would serve as a drawback to larger players, who would be sacrifising there potential to increase there stats

I think this idea has some merit, but as for the whole of creation process :D I would see it going more like

cost = the cost of a size increase on both to merge with a min size of above average and both planets must be same size, the planets then in the mergeing process would be reset 3 sizes, losses all there upgrades, and all there defences, to start. as for any other requirements on the "new dual" I would say leave them at the spot of "natural duals" since this would be the same as a made on the market planet,

there are ways to make everyone get a dual planet equally (Not keep them but make them)

make an MT "bank" where each week you can store your MTs in a bank so that when you get 10 (or whatever price will be) you can trade them in for a 50% chance (or lower/higher) to create a random dual planet

that, would cause a multi-plague...
duals are meant to be rare...

yea good idea duals woudl still be rare and even then this coudl make the triples worth even more. well id say make the % fro actually happenign around 20 % love the idea

How about a rank limit?
so you would need to be at a certain rank for an amount of time

that way someone couldn't drop the rank to whats required for 1 turn then jump back up

What about using 3MT's, but also sacrificing a large amount of naq(eg 2trill+) and maybe 1mill or so uu for the 1st merge. Prices then go up with more merges.

My line of thinking is that it is similar to creating a planet, so there goes the weeks MT's. You then need a large amount of naq to finance the merge and a lot of uu to actually complete the merge.

one problem... multies... 1 person gathers enough for 10 cheapest merges, then makes 10 multies, transfers planets to be merged somehow along with the funds for each, then merges them... person then steals planets back...

Why go through all that trouble when they can just do it themselves?

Maybe use G&R as well, as that can't be transferred. An example cost per merge level could be:
3MT's, 5k G&R, 2trill naq and 2mill uu
3MT's, 10k G&R, 4trill naq and 4mill uu
3MT's, 20k G&R, 8trill naq and 6mill uu
3MT's, 40k G&R, 16trill naq and 8mill uu
3MT's, 80k G&R, 32trill naq and 10mill uu
3MT's, 100k G&R, 40trill naq and 20mill uu
3MT's, 120k G&R, 50trill naq and 30mill uu
3MT's, 140k G&R, 60trill naq and 40mill uu
3MT's, 160k G&R, 70trill naq and 50mill uu
3MT's, 180k G&R, 80trill naq and 60mill uu

As you can see, prices would then drastically increase, with a limit to 10 and only 10 merges.Therefore large players may only be able to get 3 or 4 at the start, and then really focus on saving up if they want another.
