Is that the att and def in the Personal Ascension Realm Abilities section, or the Physical Military section in the introspection tab?
This is referring to Physical military stats, you can't attack someone until you have 10x more physical strike than they have defense. Think of it like this, you have to be able to breeze past their physical defense to enable you to bring your personal powers to a 1 on 1 fight.

My def is well over 500,000 TIMES his attack, how did he repeatedly and successfully complete ascended attacks on me?

i wasn't descended. Almost was(1 life force left), but i caught it and used my reserves to replenish my life force. but yeah, I'll post it in the ascended bugs section.

Ok, I've read this thread... But I'm still trying to figure out what it would take to descend someone... For whatever reason (perhaps the fact that I always think about this late at night) I can't work the math. I've been told by those with calcs that I'm "safe" but I really want to be able to see the math done. Is there anyone who can show me if I'm really safe?
I'll even post my stats here (yes, I know the risk...) if someone could show me how to calculate what ascended strike it would take to descend me in 24/48/72/168 hrs. I don't need the math done for me-I just want the formulas...
so-can anyone show me the formulas? I already know that with my current def/repulsion/constitution I take 25.48% of any hit. How do I then figure out everything else?

yup... quite sure... even have a log to show it (given that someone tried to descend me tonight. lol)

So... anyone want to share the formula with me to see what it would take to descend me? I know my life force recovery rate-but I know that a hit also takes out of reserves-which regenerate at a different rate... and its all sort of confusing, even though I play ascended a lot. lol.
(on a side note-whats with the "impaling"? sounds, err, vaguely sexual... or maybe its my staying up all night watching late night cinemax...)

The only way someone is likely to descend you is if they deal you enough damage to hit the "cap" which is 1/3rd of your LF+reserves. Even then it depends what your recovery rates are.
Here's my stats to give you an idea what it would take on me:
Ascended Life Force Reserves 703,261,577 / 697,170,000
Ascended Life Force 46,478,000 / 46,478,000
Ascended Life Force Recovery Rate Per Turn 13,749,742 Ascended Life Force
Reserve / Cache Rate Per Turn While at Maximum
(LF fills first(fast), then reserves(slower), then cache(slowest) 6,584,383 / 3,292,192 Ascended Life Force
Here's what happens when someone attacks me to try and descend me:
i have about 750 million total LF+reserves, so they need to deal approx 250 million damage to me, that's AFTER my defensive skills are factored in too, so realistically they need to deal about 550 mill damage since i reduce/deflect/absorb over half . That damage comes 1st off my LF, if LF drops to 1 any further damage comes off my reserves, which it would in this case.
My recovery for LF is 13.7 mill per turn, so in 4 turns my LF is recovered to max, then i have 2 turns recovering my reserves at 6.5 mill per turn rate before they can attack me again.
As they did the maximum to me initially then i would still be "down" some reserves, so next attack assuming it's 3 hrs after the 1st one would again take my LF to 1, then additional damage will reduce my reserves even lower. Subsequent attacks are needed until my LF and reserves are taken to zero and i am descended.
At any time i might pop online and farm, then convert my DMU and thus replenish my reserves/LF, which is why it's so damn hard to descend someone active.

Reserve / Cache Rate Per Turn While at Maximum
(LF fills first(fast), then reserves(slower), then cache(slowest) 7,918,804 / 3,959,402 Ascended Life Force
soo, as an example (and working with slightly rounded numbers)
885+58=944
944-320=624 FIRST HIT
624+ (3*18) + (3*7)=699
699-320=379 SECOND HIT
379 +(3*18) + (3*7)=454
454-320=134 THIRD HIT
134+ (3*18) + (3*7)=209
209-320=descended FOURTH HIT
Four hits to descend me-for anyone with a 1200 mil descension hit... I hope theres no one out there at that level...
the question realistically though, is how many hits would it take for a normal person to descend me... so, heres the math with a more realistic 400 mil descension hit (I'm sure someone has this-even if I'm nowhere near):
I lose 100 mil/hit-I regain 75mil in 3 hours ( (3*18) + (3*7) ) so on averaging losing 25 mil/3 hours. 940mil/25 mil=37*3=111/24=4 days.
Please check my math and assumptions (that there aren't likely to be persons with more than 400 mil descension hits)

Normal people won't even get close to descending you. i had some of the FUALL big guns come for me and they didn't even get close to taking me out and i had only 500 in all personal stats at that time.
Unless you are away for a full week and have annoyed the most powerful players in the game you are safe.

What exactly is your constitution level? mine is fairly high but no where near 70%

OK makes more sense, but I still think its a bit off.
In damage it doesnt stack the def enhancements does it?
I was under the impression that if it was 100 in damage the first 30% in repultion was removed leaving 70%, then 30% of the 70% remaining was removed by constitution. So a full 60% is not truely removed.
May be wrong but that was what i understood happened.

You are correct-each level removes from what is left-otherwise I would get hit by -20%
well, from my understanding (and the last descension hit against me) it goes like this:
I'll be using my stats:
Total Defensive Capacity (per 100 damage) 48.81
Energy Repulsion Level
(you can bounce back 30% of the damage directed at you, before it reaches you)
Personal Constitution
(you will only take 70.00% of the damage that reaches you)
100-repulsion modifier=70%
70-constitution=49%
49-defensive capacity=25%
(obviously the order of the above doesn't affect the end result)
Here's the log of the last attack on me:

9mil=25% of the original attack value-so my calculations are correct.
