this update sucks, i didn't lose as much up as some but i still lost a fair chuck of it.

i also feel this is only going to hurt smaller players yet again.
why? well case in point JMX (hate to use you as an example here) now requires you to have 100K raw to join under him. thats all great but how many smaller players can really afford to dump trillions into their raw UP to get to 100K just to join under someone like JMX?
and just to remind everyone of just how much it costs....

At a cost of: 8,333,416,665,000 Naquadah
the vast majority of smaller players dont have trillions laying around to afford 100K raw and i have a feeling thats probably going to be the standard most will use to recruit officers.
and most officers are AFAIK are still ascending (not eveyone is a AG or LG+1 are they?), 100K raw will cost them tons of resources just to ascend and with the retarded updates to ascended from last year it costs you less just to buy DMU than it is to do a big ascension like people use to do.

There must be something wrong...the update I asked for 6 monthes is FINALLY on and I'm not happy at all! Shows how much the other one is bad...

Can someone that has officers double check the calculations?
Are we supposed to get 30% of our officer's raw UP?
( RAW UP + Planet UP ) + [( Total of all officer's RAW UP ) X 30%]
If so, then I was getting less than 15% before I dropped them.
Either that or the % from my planets has changed.

no.
if you give them 30% income you get 15% UP
if you give 20% you get 10% UP etc.

so basicaly you still loose the +20% on raw...(or +10% raw & +10% income which can be even worse)
and give 15% of raw (intead of total) to commander
thus mathematicaly destroying 5% of ressources.
who care about commander now?? ...

well personally i hate it, but on the other hand it's very good for the dynamic of the game....it was made to stop super growth of the server and i find it funny how ppl made a gazillion threads how to boost their UP 
15 planets , cheaper raw up.... face it it wont happened! i think this might save the game for just a little while...

meh i must agree with above post...
also this will lessen how recruitment has been going lately (imo it was all We demand more UP we demand more NAQ)
i have kept officers for reasons not being their UP so im not saddened that all those profit-only CO's got nerfed
i voted no ( at first i wanted to vate "dont care" but i don't like it being tied with me being a n00b so thanks)
