And it's just a comment. I mean, in the words of someone from back before I left (2 years ago) "It's a wargame. About war. Yes there are children on here, and yes it's hidden behind a smooth sciencefictiony outside. But it's a wargame. If you can't have friendly banter, what's the point?"

I mean, sure. The term they were using was derogatory. But so would any insult against the Janus Pact. I could have called them the Wangus pact and they'd have gotten just as angry. Except Wangus isn't a word on the defecation list.

Ultima Pants it's hard typing in politcally correct-speech all the time. Five years ago it was politically correct to call midgets midgets. Now we call them 'little folk.'

Or at least you do. I call the midgets, because I don't particularly care to pander to the rapidly changing beliefs of a select few. By and large, words aren't derogatory unless used so. Rectal Cavity. On its own it is a descriptive, if a bit odd term. But when a synonym of it is used in parody of a certain alliance, suddenly it's a Bad Word.

This entire discussion, mapping out to, what, three threads? What's it about. Your feelings are hurt because the Enemy is acting... like your enemy?

I mean, I understand that we're supposed to foster good will and the like, but this isn't carealot. We're not the carebears. Well, okay, I'm not a carebear. You might be.

So what are the problems then? They have used a Bad Word in their sig.

But why is that such a big deal? Back in the day it would have merited a quite comment by a Mod, and perhaps a request to change it. And maybe it's not a bad word afterall, but something that people find offensive.

But now. Now we're into politics. People don't find Rectal Cavity to be offensive because it's a Bad Word. they find it offensive because it is used to parody their alliance name. They find it offensive because they read it and infer certain things.

"Gee, they're calling my alliance the Rectal Cavity Pact. That must mean they think that we're full of defecation. That must mean that they think we're only suited to be compost. That we're manure. That we're the butt end of things. I hate them. I don't care that we're at war with them, they insulted my alliance in a unique and half expected manner, so I'm going to raise a storm of defecation in order to try and get them in trouble for use of what I perceive to be a Bad Word."

Because, honestly, was it a Bad Word before it showed up in the contest of 'Rectal Cavity Pact'? Possibly- but was there a storm of Defecation?

No. There wasn't.

Look, if Forum or ETL or any of the higherup mods are going to do anything about this, that's their call. They'll issue a ruling and life will move on. But these threads are serving to do nothing but enflame angers on either side.

Now wait, doesn't that sound like something that should be in the Galactic Colosseum?

Why indeed, it does. So why is it here, masquerading under the guise of a general topic. The Mods are certainly aware of it, so why are we further arguing. Why are we making new threads about the subject?





Give me a good answer and I'll consider a long and eloquent response to it. But in the meantime listen to the sound of me not caring. I'm not a carebear you know.

I am short but not a midget, people have been calling me midget though so can I get that word filtered please? Also people have been saying good girl allot also so I would like girl filtered out as well cause I find both insulting to me.
