I don't mind people debating whether new mods are needed or not - but please bear in mind that the community does not vote in mods - they never have, and they never will. If it was allowed to happen, it would be chaos!

then we need a better team induced by the admins.
@Phil. You know I wouldnt let that happen if I were still around.
Freespirit wrote:This is stated so many times allready that it becomes a standard reply. The mods in the forums can never please everybody. There is always someone who has something to complain. When its pointed out that their complaint only exists on their screen and not in the community of sgw they try to get a "victory" the other way. This is not aimed at people in perticular it is just human nature.
The mods offer up their free time in sgw to mod these forums and i keep saying we have a good mod team. The team acctually most of the times works as a team and fiasco's we had before (yes mine included) havent happened anymore. The rules are clear but sometimes someone who isnt a native english speaker misunderstands them (i have made this mistake a couple of times). In general the mods do a great job. Where reports are reported actions are made and by the most feedback given on it.
well of course you would say that. But too many mistakes have been made over the years using the current system, and now I would move to say its time for a change.

Things are never such that they cant be improved uppon imho. But let`s be realistic for a brief moment here... if you change out the whole mod guard, who will you change them with? And who is willing to bet money on things improving, as opposed to all the previous "substitutions and reforms"?
Let`s face it, the SGW gene pool is not that deep when it comes to "modding material" heh... Sometimes you gotta make best with what you`ve got. I mean it`s easy to point out what`s wrong and who`s supposedly to blame but a topic with concrete and fiesable constructive suggestions (not abstract planning etc.) get considerably less trafic me thinks heh...
It`s easier to push the onvelope as far as it will go with some things and then cry foul play. Yes I`m talking about the J thing. That was and is just intentionall pushing of a long dead "joke" just to pick fights with part of the playbase and mods imho. You want a stop to the silly modding? Stop doing silly things and act like a rational and mature human being for petes sake. Yes baby fances on top of stairs look a wee bit silly but I guess you gotta put them in if your toddller keeps wanting to do a salto mortale down the stairs, eh heh...
Modding isn`t only a reflection of the mods imho, it`s also a big reflection of the users. If you`re having fights with a mod about the silliest things you`re the majority of the problem cos you`re creating problems out of silly things or even silly things to create problems.
But just for a laugh try coming up with a set of names you`d want to replace people modding today. And try to avoid friends or alliance mates or ppl that were mods before but couldn`t "cut the mustard" and now have lots to say about what`s wrong...
I come up with 1 name and then I stall out...
1. Brdavs, and.... and... I got nothing

I agree and I dont think this is as one sided some would have us all believe, Pointing a finger at the mods without being willing to take on some personal and community wide responsibility for what is said and represented by our own posting and expressions of self is paramount to the solutions.

The mods are crap.
M8 now thats genalising we both know not all mods are like what you say if thats true then i know at least 2 mods on this team that would be sad i know for a fact these 2 have warned modded esactly the same everywhere on the board even against their own alliance members and friends and they are one of the people on this team i actually look up to. That state ment is far off.
Right I am tired of repeating my self so i think i will do this in big letters now.
The complaints for the words on the Filter list goes one place only and only this place THE ADMINS. Bazsy and Smooshable are the only one that can decide what is and what isnt on the list yes we as a mod or supermod can say yes or no but ultimate we have no saying they have. If they say yes its on even if all said no it is if we all say yes it should be they can still say no.
Drop the talks about the word filter and get over it or start bugging Smooshable and Bazsy about why its like that as thats where it comes.

in an ideal world? What mods Id say there should be? Id say mods should be as follows...
Global Mods: Severian (USA), Auriel (euro), Buck (euro), Psi (USA), Nuto Vixen (aussie) and Wolf359 (misc time zone).
General area mods: Mordack, Major lee hurts, Pianomutt, Spacey and the rook.
Mods suggestions for other areas: Jenny and maybe FS.
Race mods: Any noobies wanting to practise for the job, as the race sections are not that busy.
market mods: Nightmare (he seems to be running a tight ship..

) and Lord Nequal (cant spell the name correctly).
Misc mods: Jack and Corran Horn.
I think all fo the above would make an excellent modding team.

1. Severian is from Australia.
2. I have a problem Auriel becoming a global mod. The ordinary section mod yea. Global mod no. She has to prove herself first.
3. She is doing a stellar job as a race mod. My assumptions a few months ago were incorrect. I wont start another mod bashing if her name is changed to blue
