I didn't join the forums until 3 months after i joined the game. The thing is I didn't realise at the time (or even for a few months after joining the forums) that the forums is pretty much a part of the game. Just playing the game is only half the game, and you struggle more to get anywhere and make friends.

I have said for a long time, and still say now, that it should direct you to forums upon creation of an account. Say the first 10 times you log in you should get directed to forums, unless you make an account.

agreed, but i know when i first joined it would have been a pain in the arse having this msg that keeps telling me 2 go to the forums when i barely know how to use the game in the first place

maybe you would have known more? or learned faster if you had?

Things are much different now then in the old days, keep that in mind.

haha i can tell you know i would have ignored every single one of those msg's ...but assuming i didnt i prolly would have learned more instead of floundering for a bit then going inactive for 2 years

what brought you back?

I like playing SGW and talking/reading on the forums i think its an intregal part of the game but findign a way to get it to the masses is a complicated task being the # of people involved but why cant there simply be a single message sent to every account in the game informing the player about the fact that there is a "Offical Forum" with an active market place and other sections that cover every aspect of the game from allainces, commanders, to vendetta's and let there be an active option to turn off this message in preferences so you know that person is active and every 6months (1 year?) resend the message like the reset password message is done

well my dad and 2 brothers play..and had been that whole time...and i was INCREDIBLY bored one day...and figured out my old password and fiddled with my account..and got back on my feet again ...not thinking i had time to keep playing..but i did... hence the life of a uni student

Excellent idea. Been suggested before as well but still excellent idea. Tieing it to the password change notice is an excellent idea.

My son in law got me started, sadly his SGW career ended because he left the Uni and entered the workforce and didnt have time to continue. Work and family took priority.

too bad it wont be thrown in the next round of updates things need to change soon or in 2 years when i get my cool mod title things might be a bit more bleak than they are and to far to reverse

haha yeah that isnt always the case with some players it seems ... well i have 2 jobs, study full time at uni, have a pretty active social life and still have time to keep this account running..so meh..i think its the late night hours like this

I think it's fact many people leave as this poll shown how much active forum users are interested into the game, and that new ones often don't visit this place.

with that idea

i reckon there should be a regular basis message going on

say about maybe once a month u get a message about forum or so

more people to meet if we get more peopel to join forum

i never joined the forum until i came to my first allaince which was like 2yrs ago lol
