Personally I think just a few easy implementations would make purg a viable option.
1. NO G&R, how can you gain "Glory and Reputation" hiding in purg?
2. Seperate ranking system (Potentialy causing more lag tho)Rank 1 purg account should not happen.
3. Make entry more thought out
A. No attacks in the last 24 to 48 hrs
B. Strip an presently held G&R
C. Force alliance leaves, you are going into purgatory and therefore hiding
D. Deal with the "personal" AT in purg
E. Create a set time limit before being expelled
F. for every 30 days you spend in purg you must wait 7 days before reentering purg. So if the limit is 90 days, and you spend the full 90 days, you must wait 21 days to reenter.
G. etc, etc, etc.....
as it is now purg is just another tactic handed to the gorrilla fighter, and those who basicly remain statless and untouchable.
The main flaw with that is that perg was never meant to be a 'place to hide' - so should not be discussed as such and rank and g&r should not even come into it. As stated before - it is not the fault of those in perg if tehy are in high rankings - it is the fault of the way the game has gone to be able to allow those with massive armies to drop rank so easily - i.e. for things to be imbalanced. The problem lies there, and in allowing ascended (experienced) accounts into perg, not with perg itself.

(note: if you total population size is greater than 389,589,041 disease will surely strike your lands. Above 292,191,781 and raiding is no longer possible. Above 194,794,521 and trading/buying units no longer possible. Pergatory is not accessible above 38,958,904)
Mightymidget
Living God of the AJNA
53,644,737
So you cant go into perg after 38mill but you can grow to to near 40% over the cap and still not be removed.......
What to stop someone selling off to be under 38mill but having a 1mill UP and moving to perg, they can grow in peace there......
mmmm not a bad idea actually.

Personally, I find it hard to comment as I can't figure out your line of thinking? Someone in normal is at risk of being attacked at any moment. Someone in purg is gaining many protections. Being as they obtain a rank as high as rank 1 would mean their stats had to be pretty darn good, and since purg is a realm of people "hiding" and not actively waring that means hes basicly scott free. The actively "farming/raiding" account wont bother to build and waste that much strike since they want to stay low for the reason they are their, and thats farming and raiding.
Now for players in norm, escpecially those in the server war, how is playing efficently "complaining"? as you put it? Why build stats to match and over take the "purg" counterpart only to have them removed daily, sometimes even hourly as he sits with a blank attack log?
I don't care about stat rank, anyone with sense knows its useless information and means nothing, but someone hiding in purg gaining G&R, and knocking others who are in normal realms and trying to ascend, out of G&R range just aint right no way you slice it.

Sorry mate - it's not often we disagree - but your argument is massively flawed here!
Firstly, as I mentioned before - perg is not meant to be a 'hiding' place, and should not be discussed as such. As has also been pointed out, players/alliances do war in perg.
Yes, the stats of some of the people in perg do need to be very good in order to get to rank one - but once again, it is not perg, and the rules for getting into/out of perg that is the problem here - it is the ludicrous imbalance of the game overall that allows people with armies well into the 100s of millions to be able to massively imbalance their account, usually through going to 0 def, and drop thousands of ranks, or teh fact that it has become too easy to mass accounts due to badly thought out updates and unlimited AT. That is why rank means nothing, remember? That is the problem, and that is what needs fixed! - not the fact that someone in perg can achieve rank 1!
I'm not particularly a massive fan of perg (only trying it out for the first time ever now) - but the problems that are being stated here are not due to it's inception, but due to other problems within the game that have been unaddressed for a long, long time.
I do question the fact that someone with A 50 million + army is still there when the limit is suppsoed to be 30 odd million though - that needs looking at!

Wolf, I think we disagree fairly often actually, just in a good way.
Secondly that line of thinking is in rebuttal to the post quoted, not my feelings on purg. I don't mind purg, its the poor way it was thought out and implemented, and the way that even the exploits and loopholes are shown time and time again that nothing is being done.

Its been mentioned most likely but IMO
- Perg should be for like armies 25m or less, anyone who reaches it should automatically be kicked, simple as that.
- There should be a 48 hour wait to enter perg after attacking someone, this removes the planet theft problem as the other person will have 2 days to sort the person out.
Honestly to outgrow the limiter is a joke and should be fixed ASAP because that is when perg becomes ridduclous and is abused by bigger players, as said by chaos a big account could sell off everything get a awsome UP and just sit in perg forever and become "untouchable" by other accounts.
So yeah, just make it a certain army size limit, where nothing above can be in there and the timer stops people doing little attacks and running, which would make those bigger accounts happy.
Anyway have a good one everyone

Works for me - but I'd still ban any 'ascended' main account from perg too.

I just cant agree with that. If a non ascended is 5 times bigger then they can potentially be equel in strength, so i say ascended accounts should be allowed. maybe the more times ascended the quicker you are exiled from purg. I still beleive there should be a time limit as a person now can stay there indefinitely by selling UU, and yes you can sell it.

No mate - the major flaw in perg (and the cause of a lot of the snags) - is that it allows ascended accounts in It is ridiculous that a Living God account + can be let into perg. Remember what perg is meant to be for (as a place to grow for newer and weaker accounts - a place to learn), and remember that ascended bonuses quickly make ascended accounts more powerful (not to mention more powerful weapons).
Also remember, when you ascend, you CHOOSE when to ascend - so if you choose to ascend without putting enough resources into reserve (held by somebody when you ascend), then you have made a poor choice. You said it yourself - a non ascended account has to be around 5 times bigger to be equal in strength!
