Yes communism/socialism is taking over USA, run for your lives people!!!

On a serious note, I'm wondering what the "all knowing ones" have to propose to get out off this "great depression". I suppose it's sitting doing nothing watching clouds passing on the sky and GM falling slowly but surely to bankruptcy? :) (Lehman Brothers is already gone..)
Makes me wonder why many politicians/economists being republicans or democrats are now in favour of state intervention to get out of crisis...I suppose that's what we call good sense. :-D

LoLz that's not going to be Neoclassists' microeconomy point of view that will solve it anyway! Nothing more naive than them, who think banks and firms can get back on their feet alone...lol!! As far as I know, there aren't money trees on this planet.
Image
Doesn't always work.

Typically what Malthus feared about offer>demand and overproduction, is currently happening now.

but the truth is obama is a statist, keynesist and socialist, his ideas about the economy, the state and the society are about 100 years behind the current state of our civilization (western civilization i mean). so no. there'll be no salvation. and usa will continue the great march to the left started by the likes of w.h.taft and fdr.

I could not have said it better.

Are you kidding? I've got a 6 year old cousin that could have said it better. Though she's smart enough not to have. Your opening paragraph is just silly. Some people certainly have their hopes set to high. Obama can only play with the hand he's been dealt and let's face it, it's a pretty ordinary one. That said, what is so wrong with idealism? A lot of those goals are unatainable but a lot should and need to be attempted. Some of them are possible. It's good to have someone who wants to end poverty, stop global warming. Homelessness is a problem that many governments through Europe have come close to completely eradicating. No one can control the weather and no sane person thinks Obama can.

A statist, Keynesian and a socialist? You don't even know what those words mean. If you did you'd know you can't be all three. I'm guessing you heard them Limbaugh or O'riely etc. Try actually reading some of his policies and actually working out what you think is wrong with them. We've seen the complete failure of the absolute capitalist system. Some regulation is just what the doctor ordered. 100 years behind? Give me a brake. Name some things that are 100 years behind, hell name one.

Well I have a thing in mind 80 years ago...called the great depression.
And we can guess thanks to who it has been solved...it was those outdated theories from before they even existed (Great Deal is on 30s, 100 years ago would be 1900s).

I always find it "funny" when people spit on Keynes' theory, then a big boom happens, and we all know then that if we don't act like Keynes suggested, all firms will go bankrupt one by one. Like this ultra-capitalist newspaper in my country, they said the man of the year will be Keynes...I think even the most hardcore defenders of free market, when they have good sense, see when a little bit of help is needed to relaunch the machine!

Bush was blasted for using 4,000 guards and 42 million for his second, which was during a period of economic stability. to top it off He's following Lincoln's footsteps, a figure which he in no way resembles, and has even decided to us the bible on which Lincoln was sworn in. This is a coronation not an inaugural event. They might as well build a grand temple complex around the Lincoln memorial and crave Old Abe out of his marble throne so Obama can ascend and take his media appointed crown. Heck maybe we can drag the Pope over, and a few foreign potentates to seal the image forever in our minds.

On another note, once the bleeding heart media realize they have no one to criticize since they gotten their messiah in office they'll run out of stories and material and hopefully burn themselves alive on prime time tv. I'd watch.

hes way better then you will ever be :o so dont judge him..

but i do think that cost for ceremony was a bit too much.. 172 million, in a time when us economy sucks
