I thought all movies were fake... hence why they call it fiction

*Is fed up of people not reciteing ancient history correctly*
Of course the movie was fake, they didnt have camaras then. But what took place is very similar to what happened in the movie, The only difference is that there where about 5000 more greeks, from all over the place, And a few thousand spartans, Although they did end up with Just 300 spartans and about 600 other randomers, Who pwned a ridiculas amount of Persians in proportion to how many greeks died. On the final day, Considering they where outflanked on the rear and the front, with no lateral movement avaliable...Which is what happened all the way through the movie, the only difference is Leonidas left with a decent sized army, but sent the rest of them back, which is where the film and real events differ, as i said however, on the final couple of days there where only a small army, and they held an outflanked pass for a around half a day or so of attacking. (7 days in total, if memory serves only 4 of them where spent fighting)

The film event which the film is based on is in fact known as The Battle of Thermopylae... 10,000 greeks against the entire persian army. When they were betrayed 80 percent or so of the army managed to retreat, while Leonidas commanding a contigent of around 2000 men from Thebes and Thespiae defended the rest of the army's retreat, dying to the last man. There are so many things changed for the sake of artistic license and drama that the film in itself is nothing more than fiction.
P.S when it comes to ancient history I am always right and I have the paper to prove it
