I mean, "because I logged in, went to the rankings, saw a bug crawl across the screen on top of your name and decided you should be massed" should be a sufficient reason. This idea of honor is retarded. 1. it's a game 2. it's a war game, there is no such thing as honor.

I might have to use that reason sometime. lulz

MMO - Massively Multiplayer Online means just that, a crapload of real people battling it out(whether it be in wits or brawn) online.

Where in Massively, Multiplay or Online does it say anything about people battling it out? Plenty of MMO's out there that dont have ANYTHING to do with war.

I see you lack wits, perhaps you have brawn in it's place? I dunno. But battle doesn't equal war, and pretty much every MMO out there has people fighting for some kind of supremacy, whether it be power through politics/popularity or economics or power through military might, it's people battling.

So in short, I never said that MMO meant war, I said it was a game played by many.

RPG - Role Playing Game likewise is just a label explaining the game's mechanics and can be coupled with any other genre.

The RPG part cannot be dismissed so crucially. I believe it is very important. Role Playing Game, i.e you roleplay in it :P. REK takes on the roll that he chooses and me and you and everyone else take on the role we choose, therefore its upto the person behind the screen to decide what this world offers for his or her character.

How many people are actually different in RL to what they are here?
Im exactly the same :D utterly chilled out but i looove to argue :D.

And how does that in any way shape or form change or even effect what I said?

Because your point seemed to be that MMORPG meant it was a battle game where as im saying RPG should mean that it can be a battle or non battle related game depending on the person. Generally i roleplay a non battle character and therefore this game is focused around economy and polotics for me.

My point is that just because it is an MMORPG does not exclude it from being a war game.

And I'll say it again, battling is not exclusive to killing, there are dozens of different types of battles. Two of those being political/diplomatic and economic. ;)

oh not this war/RPG argument again.... #-o

as far as i see it, its both. yes, its an MMORPG, and guess what? we're roleplaying in the IP universe of Stargate. and guess what? the premise of that universe is..... here we go..... war. tauri vs goauld, asgard vs replicators, so on so forth....

now someone will probably try contradicting that but it doesnt make a difference. and its irrellevant. so back on topic (partially), if someones role playing as a mean old system lord, then hey, you shouldnt be surprised when they act like...... well.... a mean old system lord. falling back on the old 'were playing a RPG here' set of excuses and such is just redundant, you're falling into the others RP. the hypothetical mean old system lord wants to pillage and enslave, thats the RP part.

yes, i too found it aggrevating when my officers were massed seemingly randomly, or for some premeditated retaliation.... but hey. im not about to criticise their playing technique based on some moral compass, unless ofcourse theres cheating or scamming involved.

my 2 cents.

Seems like most are going along the same lines here, even if they don't relise it
I've said it before and I'll say it again...

Make the defender favored by a very high rato and everything will fall into place. Wars will become hard and take skill instead of the current, hit attack 20times in less than 5seconds and move onto next target; make it so that it costs a lot of naq and it even costs a good amount of troops to mass some one! The price of AT's would become stable, well about as stable as we've come to expect on here haha. People would still war and still farm like crazy but the war times would be more fun imo. In wars you wouldn't have 200 statless players all complaining, you'd have people building stats which others would find hard to take down - you'd have clear winners and loosers and the fun aspect of this game would return, because tbh 100% honest... this game has went down faster than that apple that hit Newtons head...

Okie so that was the long ranting version of what I've said  Heres the short vesion, Favor the defender A LOT.
