But then that also roughly translates in to "if you don't want to lose it, don't play".

Depends really.. you can have a 'good' experience playing the game with minimal stats..

Then with minimal stats you don't really lose anything.

The real point of this thread is this, ME chasing. An alliance mate was massed last night. Why? Because it was said he had 65% of his army in stats, and thats just not cool!

The community gets to make the descision of wether things like this should stand or should not. I want to know your thoughts on this.

As for mine, each player chooses to play this game in there own unique way. Some mass for fun, some play for peace and growth. If you want a war, then find someone else wants a war, instead of massing players that dont wish for war. BTW, this is NOT a WAR game, its a MMORPG. This is a ROLE PLAYING game. You have the CHOICE to war, to grow, to ascend, to reach rank 1! So instead of beating down people for NO reason, FIND someone else that wants the same thing as you. IM sick and tired of these massings. This is bull **Filtered**.

If I choose to mass him, that's my choice.
If I choose to give up any reason, no matter how silly, that's my choice.

Freedom is a **Filtered**. Deal with it, I guess. :)
Good points. Just consider there's a second edge to the sword of liberty.

I hate it when people say 'this is not a war game', of course it is, everything else is just a means to an end, resource gathering and preparing your account for combat.

I dont condone what I consider ME chasing, the massing of smaller easy kills to boost ME stats, my own ME is built purely from war and resource gathering for war.

BUT

I do think all alliances should make war, and if you dont pick a war, sooner or later a war will pick you. So find yourself well matched opponents while you have the choice and never build anything you not willing to lose.

Thats just my opinion

I like that opinion. Well said, Mezz. War is not an option.. it's an obligation. :P

this is technically why i left :/

i don't "war" in the game's conventional sense, and my style is inherently doomed to be consumed by those who wish to prove this very point.

I see this game as being more then a war game. This game has a deep political, economic, and growth side to it besides just war. So some people may be attracted to those aspects of the game instead of the aspect of war.

Also on another point, if this game was completely based around war, then there should be a total war option to the game (where you can destroy an account completely (travain comes to mind, where you would catpult a town till it had absolutely nothing left)), which there isnt.

But what are those aspects, if not merely means to the end of the war?

This may not be a war game in it's absolute entirety, but war is certainly the emphasis. The dominant emphasis. Most of the politics which exists within the game revolves around coveting power and the start and prevention of conflicts. The economic aspect is the same. Most people trade in order to improve their accounts, and what is the purpose of accounts if not to make war?

It's honestly beyond me how some people can think this is anything other than a war game when everything about it leans so obviously and blatantly in that direction. The title's only the beginning. Accounts are military entities. Weapons. Defense. Peace/war/neutral settings. Attack. Mothership. What are these if not military components intended for use in warfare?

My mind is boggled by the fact that people try to play this game as though it isn't about conflict, and its boggled even further when they don't just go somewhere which is obviously more suited to their tastes. It's like playing Monopoly and insisting that the game has nothing to do with money.

I am not a peace loving person, that is afraid of massing or being massed, but i do try to understand the different views of people. And that was all i was trying to state.

I do agree with you that quite a few people would be happier playing a different game, one that is more like sim city, but i do understand that those people also make rather good farms for me. So they are beneficial to me and how i do play, so i try not to chase them off.
