Yes, my suggestion of 6 hours was just a ball park figure. :D

i prefer 6, since you may not login for an hour (watch a TV show...).

Stop judjing your comments on clarkeys idea.
It's flawed. Being active is of big importance in this game, attacking people, farming, raiding, growing. To implement waiting 6 hours with no attacking for "send out" is anti-activity. Which is not a good thing.
And to make it "fair" as mezz put it, by adding a similar wait time on many other forms of protection is again. Just adding to the problem.
The reason why it exists for Vac mode, is because Vac mode is supposed to be used for actual time away from the game, not to protect stats, and if you are going away from the game you wont mind not attacking for 24 hrs .

I made two suggestions, the second being the better, enabling MS's to be directly attacked while on "send out". The reason why this is a good idea is simple. The reason why it is preferable to Clarkey's is it involves no forced inactivity.
It is a good idea, for one simple reason. Unlike PPT and Merlins which their direct purpose is too protect your asset, Sending out a MS never was, it was supposed to be a way of finding a Planet for a cost, its cost was the inability to use your MS for 24 hrs. It was never meant as a way to protect your MS from being massed.
The addition of a button to directly attack a MS searching for a planet, only when one is searching will do the following.

1. Promote Activity, not promote inactivity.
2. Retain the original precieved benefits of the "search" funtion.
3. Re-Enitalise the cost of said function, this time without adding a benefit that was not meant to be there.
4. Removes said problem Clarkey brought this Topic up for.

The only other solution in my eyes worth considering is too remove the current flawed cost, "sending out your MS", with another cost to look for a planet. I can't really think of a suitable one, I liked the old one, just not the uncorrect version.
