These titles are aweful
next time something like this is going to happen, can we have a vote on the forum or something? I don't now any one atm who likes it.

I think we should go back to the old style until a compremise can be found...

as we said, feel free to suggest new ones / replacements, and they can easily be implemented...

look at page 2. There are plenty of suggestions.

I don't think ANYONE cared about the regular forum ranks implying some people with 2000 post's had 1300 better than a person with 700 post's.

On a final note. Don't use something from the earth military as you'll have to end up favouring one system or country over the other and there will be arguments.. because where as jack is happy to suggest to use US military ranks, I would say to use British as thus far we've been the most dominant military force on the planet for the longest period of time out of the nations still 'alive'.

Don't use something from SG...as then you'll have to start favouring races or mix and matching ships which will, again, cause arguing.. and like it does atm.. it'l look stupid.

Don't use ships or inanimate object designations as that's just plain ridiculous within the context of these forums, even though I do understand the logic behind it.

You want a neutral hierarchy of titles and plenty have been suggested already.

tbh I never even noticed them till this thread.

and I don't like the idea of military rankings..most are too sexist

@ Jack. You can say that all you want NOW... but the glory days of fighting are gone.. the US military may be big.. but it's nothing compared to the armies of old when it's looked at in a relative context. At the same time.. I was not referring to these days... we were the greatest military power for about 250 years with only germany being the main challenge and before that we were always a large power. Come back to me in two hundred years time, with the same number of wars under your belt and then we'll chat about it.

The USAF are the only human military ranks I would accept due to their use in the SG franchise itself, but I would push and stress to make sure right at the top above all military ranks the I.O.A have the top rank.
