Not totally new, but can't read thousands of posts trying to find out how to use an avatar here. I've read the info on banners in this topic, but doesn't tell me how to do an avatar, though they are said to be easier.
Can someone tell me how to use one here? I'm just learning graphics stuff, so be kind!

Find a pic of max 200pix X 200pix, find a place to host it, then head over to your profile and scroll to the bottom. Enter the address of the image you want in the "link to offsite avatar" box and click submit. Viola, you got yourself an avatar.

So it seems you have to click 'Attach sig' every post?

No, you can set your profile so that it attaches your sig everytime, unless you uncheck the attach sig box when posting. The option is called: Always attach my signature.

thanks to advice on this thread I was able to finally get an avatar on here.

I had an avatar - then some reason it wasn't there, now the option to link back to my avatar isn't even available in my profile. I had the size under the limits, so I am not sure why I can't put my avatar back on. Any thoughts???

wat about pic memory size? the mb limits, if not that ask mods by pm system

A supermod must have found some fault with it, enough to block you from accessing another.

Ok, I didn't think anything was wrong with it, the first one I added was really big, but I immediately replaced it with one of the defaults the site provided until I could get one down to the right size and file limit. So is this a done deal forever - or is there a chance of redemtion???
