IMO, If I look at it from history
30 years ago a black man married a black women people would have been discusted
Now, Gays and Lesbians...
I think once it is passed, and once it becomes more "okay" It will be the norm!
Maybe in your country. We never had that issue in Europe.
Also, we're not animals. We have thought, feelings and the distinct ability to differentiate right from wrong.
I do not agree with gay marriages.
Now gays and lesbians, tomorrow I'll be happy with my pet dog and/or a 10 year old girl... can i marry them?

i dont care what people think of me for saying that because and as i've steted in the past, i came to close for comfort to these animals, so i speak from experiance, NOT simple hatred because of my personal values.

Errr that's one extreme position.

I personally think nobody should be shot because of their sexual attraction...but I think pedophils shall be emasculated to avoid them causing troubles.

But it's not the subject.

as far as my political views with gay marriage are concerned, i don't believe gays should have any right to marriage.
they can have a common law status so they can make it easy for will-inheritance, but that's the limit. and they should NEVER be allowed to adopt children.
i see children in single parent family's (and my own niece is part of a single parent family) all the time, and they do not have the same outlook, views and happiness as children in a proper family unit. i hear it all the time at the school when collecting my kids, "mummy/daddy, why cant i have a daddy/mummy?! or "mummy/daddy, why doesn't daddy/mummy come and see me, pick me up, live with us, love me, want to be with us?! (insert any other normal child response)"
children see and notice everything, ESPECIALLY when they see many other children all having what they don't have. my niece says all these things all the time. so again, i speak from experience.

I agree with the latter part of your post completly G. (two last paragraphs)
I'm not in favour of gay couples being able to adopt children...they can keep raising their children if the father or mother "changed side", but I'm not in favour of them adopting children...

This issue really is ultimately decided by one's religious feelings. If you are a Christian you are likely to be against it. If you are not you may be more likely to accept it.
Christians are taught :
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
--Genesis 2:24
'' Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but **Filtered** and adulterers God will judge.
--Hebrews 13:4
So practicing Christians as well as Jews and many other religions , even though it is not for us to judge, believe marriage is between a man and a woman.
I am not God , so it is not for me to condemn or to judge peoples choices or who they love , but to me such a lifestyle should not be called a ''marriage''.Call it a civil union, a life partner , or whatever.
On a lighter note - my cousin is an agoraphobic homosexual, which makes it kind of hard for him to come out of the closet.

I for one have no problem with people being homosexual, its not something you can control or turn on or off but marriage is sacred to me. GunZ has a good point. They can live together and have a unified social status but standing in front of a priest and expecting him to unite you in front of God...

@ Gunz, that's what they can do in my country, and apparently in several other nations, civil union, mariage is banned to them.
Civil unions and registered partnerships
Andorra
Austria
Colombia
Czech Republic
Denmark
Ecuador
Finland
France
Germany
Greenland
Hungary
Iceland
Luxembourg
New Caledonia
New Zealand
Slovenia
Switzerland
Wallis and Futuna
United Kingdom
Uruguay
I hope my country always stay this way and never moves more towards yes, or more towards no.

Indeed, but in the states, there is no federal law on the matter . The issue as any American knows is left to the states to decide, and in the US we have 5 states that allow gay marriage-(Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont, -Washington, D.C
which is not a state also allows it. We have 3 States which recognize same-sex marriage but do not grant same-sex marriage licenses:( New York, Rhode Island, and Maryland).
Seems every year there is another state with another big fight over the issue.

They shall just permit civil union in all states imo, homos would get their union and american christians wouldn't have a dig at the mariage...compromising would solve this issue. Because both sides have a right to claim, but have to consider the other side. And it's not strictly a matter of christians anyway...some non christians don't agree with gay mariage either.

I cant think of a reason why state or society at large should make it its business as to whome a person chooses to spend his life with and share intimicy and then deny them rights we give to others. I mean we allow complete muppets to procreate too...
And to top it off, the same people that get kittens when someone says "maybe you shouldnt raise your kid by beating him" as to what the heck does the state pry its nose into their bussines for, take it uppon themselves to make a big deal out of someone elses love life lol.
And as far as religious sentiment goes... ya well. Who gives a dump honestly lol? I`m of a religious belief that other peoples religious belief means **Filtered** all in the grand scheme of things. Keep it in the (church) closet. Spot the irony?
I`m from a country on that list. And you know what, earth hasnt opened up to swallow us, god has done no smithing, nor are millions of gays running rampant on our streets raeping dogs and little kids (really, bringing animals and kids into this discussion just shows how *filtered* you are lol).

Slovenia is apparently on civil union list, just like my country is.
Civil union isn't mariage. It's a compromise thing that shall make everyone happy in my opinion.
