Just read your reports, Teal'c. To be honest, I 'allowed' the spam because I'm generally not quick to lay down the law about things like that. Jack, conversely, is. An unacceptable precedent. Hopefully once we've written up new rules, we'll be singing from the same hymn sheet.

Here is the thing Mordack, I think you are generally a nice guy, but to over look a mod spamming in your section is wrong, to allow someone who has a second account in your section is wrong, and here is why I am here aswell...

I got a warning for calling someone an idiot I did my 2 weeks because it was my 4th and I should have been banned on third but i'd like to fight the warning for calling someone an idiot I don't think that that is president in getting a warning I didn't fight it while i was on my ban because if i had won I would have been unbanned and I didn't want to be unbanned as I had 3 warnings

Ummmm... I forgot what all the complaints were, so if I miss one or two, remind me in a nice bullet point form.


1. Warned for calling someone an idiot.
No one should be warned for calling someone an idiot, it's been this way for the last 2-3 years now.

2. Juliette and gang didn't get warned for spamming in the oms section.
Like Zeratul said, Mordack and I have a different idea of how things should be ran in this section. We're not Nazis with the "warn stick" like past oms might have been.

3. Juliette abused her power in the Temple with the warning/ban thread.
Maybe, I disagree but whatever. It doesn't matter since it was done in the spirit of fun and no permanent damage was caused.

It wasn't just mods that were spamming and nothing was overlooked.

But i'm with Jack, no-one should ever be warned for calling someone an idiot. That is what you call Modding OTT.

and idiot isnt even bad if someone gets warned for calling some one and idiot then they should be warned for calling people fat or a noob and plenty of other things

agreed but it was my fourth thats why i didn't fight the ban now I got three more before I can get banned again not just one as they missed a ban on my third

It won't be done in five minutes, I'm afraid. Once I've written up a draft, I'll ask both the moderators and the users for their opinions. Their feedback will determine whether or not they become the rule of law.

I apologize if you wanted this to be immediate, but I'm keen to get it right and put an end to all of this silliness; the focus of the ombudsman shouldn't be on who warned who in our own section.

Rules set in the oms section are made by the oms. Me and Zeek had our rules because we believed it lead to us being able to deal with complaints as best as possible. It is Mordack and Jacks choice to mod how they want now they are oms.

No I meant how is my warning appeal going?

It is our choice, but it's one which we'd like to make using feedback from everybody else who is affected by what goes on in this section.
