2 alliances in the same house can't fight
2 alliances in unrelated houses are uneffected
2 alliance in opposite houses are effected by automatic war settings and such
So yes what your saying is basicly spot on.
House War and Peace: You are automatically at peace with all other house VOTING members. Each house also has an opposite house, with which it is at war (like the Hall of Justice and the Hall of Doom). This is the same type of war as a '2 way war' indivdiually or with alliance general war. Nox is bypassed, limits of damage and deaths are raised, etc...

But if you are in opposite houses, you do not need to fight them but if you do, war settings are set already.

I think his point was more from a defenders point of veiw.
Whats stopping a more powerful alliance in the house opposit of you from running amuck massing you for ME at will. Damages are increased so good for ME. Nox turned off so no protection of any kind, Etc, Etc, Etc.....

I agree but I misread what lone dragon wrote, as thinking he meant, you had to go to war with them i.e see bold. But yes, could be potentially exploitable
Sorry if I dont get this but so if your in alliance with the same attribute say Nemisis and DDE having (Chaos) they cant fight? or if there is another alliance of DDE with a different house they have to fight? It seems a bit confusing you could end up with weak alliance up against some of the best in the game

Of course if you have the numbers, like DDE do, you can ( and have ) take control of the opposing house to prevent anyone using the no-nox advantage against you.
Once again, this is an Empire update and should be honestly named as such, it benefits big empires at the cost of the independent alliances this game was built on. Admin should hang his head in shame giving such preference to one group of players over all the others.

You can see how houses are shaping up into exclusive clubs allready with only a fraction of the 400+ alliances in the frey.
And the number will drop once the 5 days are up and kicking starts.
My thoughts exactly, and echoed by many before this update came out. These houses are an Empire update giving extra bonuses to those who need them the least.
Lone wolves dont receive a house bonus or alliance gifts so they deserve their Chuck Norris "dual" bonus (10% Def/Cov).
What do you guys suggest would be an appropriate benefit for independant Alliances
(who can still grant their members gifts but dont receive a house bonus)?
Half a bonus of their choice since they wouldnt have a natural enemy?

Sorry for the double post but I wanted to seperate my line of thinking...
Personally, I think we need another selection so there is something for everyone.
Preferably another House that provides a bonus you can't get from planets, such as Faith, Science and Time.
Everyone was nervous about a MS House but now that attack and defences have been raised to mitigate big ships, then it might be worth testing in Beta now it has been reset ...
Such a House could provide a
small bonus to improve MS Volleys/Shields with a natural enemy could 100% offset, just like Faith and Science that everyone is drooling over but only a few can afford

If we dont create another house then we need to consider a small "market adjustment" to spread the benefits over those that are popular and those that are not...

I like idea of planets house. But also though UP, MS and Radiing house were great additions. Raiding no big account would want, and be solely for smaller guys/ascenders.
UP makes perfect sense, and MS makes a few sought after houses, IE science/faith, planet/UP
edit: also a chameleon house, that can change bonus every month.
Also what about house banks?
I think we need more houses to make more super sought after houses.

I like the Chameleon and UP Ideas too... but what would be a fitting natural enemy?
The increased bank space may not be as popular because thats readily available now within Alliance gifts.
Also, maybe a House that offers a decent increase in ascended, offset by a natural enemy that 100% negates that power or maybe a
House that provides 5% more fleet power, offset by a natural enemy that receives more 25% more merlins (just an example)?
I think if there were two more interesting choices (4 including natural enemies), then the benefits would be more equally shared, the risks of opposing a powerful empire would be offset and this would be entice more independant alliances to join a House.
Maybe we could test a few new options in beta for popularity or bugs when Jason catches his breathe

OK, instead of a " bank " per se. How about a MT structure. each house gets like 5/week. there are options such as:
4 hours nox regardless of house
4 hours Merlins for house
4 hours 2Xs resource production
ect

How about requiring a defense or a %of the power of the one you attack?

Building on Kaps idea of a UP house. What about a Raid house for its enemy?
Now, I've no idea of the legalistic in terms of rates and stuff, but they would make sense. Either you can improve your own UP, OR you can raid from other people.
Obviously Raiding would be more liked. But if your above the raiding cap, and want to recover more quickly during and after wars, then the ability to improve your UP would be a good plus side.

For the chameleon house, natural enemy would be the house they were imitating and the the opposing house
